Are all panels equal
I am starting the stripping project on my '79 Safari 23. There is a marked difference after the first time over between the "molded" upper corner panels and the straight side panels. The side panels come clean with the stripper easily(clear coat is pretty well compromised anyway). However, the upper corner panels are definitely more opaque than the adjacent sides when compared at the vertical rivet seam.
I have polished with Lowes tool box polish which does a good job for the final product I have in mind. There are other threads earlier that discuss this process.
But I am curious if there could be fundamental differences in the metal.
My current plan is to go back and re-strip those areas and see if it makes a difference.
Anybody had a similar experience on the round upper corners?
