Vents Coming Down/Bath Vanity Door Opening

Have 2017 International Serenity. I have 2 problems:
1) The vanity door does not stay closed during transit. It is a heavy door since it has glass on it. And it slants backward which means more weight is put on the door than a completely vertical door. I've ordered a second latch to put on it, but not sure that will work. Anyone else have this problem? Solution?

2) The other thing is that I have 2 metal vents that keep coming down in transit. I've thought of glueing them up there, but not sure I want to do that. Anyone have a solution for this as well?

Then vents will stay in better if you bend out the little tabs. That's all the dealer is going to do it bend them out and stick them back in the vent hole. Don't bend them too far or they will break but it's an easy fix. AS is aware of this issue it happens on all ducted units.

Vanity mirror you need a stronger latch

I would certainly contact Airstream about the door but you can probably fix the vents yourself but do be careful. A little adjustment should do the trick. As others have said, AS is aware of the vents. Happens a lot on the ducted system. I gave up and was able to score the last 10 simple round pop in screens at the factory. I hated the directional vents.

Daquenzer.... I had a similar problem on my 2007 with the vanity mirror door opening during transit. I added an additional plastic latch to the opposite end of the original latch and it never opened during transit again.

Thanks for the info. I did order a heavy duty latch to add to the one there. So if that works will be an easy fix.

I don’t care for the directional vents either. I just have 2 that are a problem. I will probably try to make the hole smaller by adding duct tape to the outside edges to make them fit tighter.

But I may ask about those pop in screens. That sounds like a better way to go. Maybe if the get enough complaints they will think about using them again.

I have had the same problem many times with the vents. Open the door at the camp site, and there they are laying on the floor. When i told the service mgr at my dealership, he put his up to the vent and it fell right into his hand. That usually never happens.

So, tell your dealership to fix them, i am certain they will. If it continues to happen, I will use Gorilla tape.

I had the vent problem on five of mine—put a couple dabs of silicone caulking on the ceiling under each of the vents and have not had a recurrence of them falling and I’ve been ebb overr some pretty bumpy roads since the fix.

Just went on another trip.
1). The extra latch on the vanity was the fix I needed. Vanity stayed closed.
2). The silicone caulking (a dab on each side of the vent) worked as well. Vents stayed up.

Thanks for the suggestions. PROBLEM SOLVED.
