Airstream Wrecking / Salvage Yards?

Hi
Are there any specialized airstream salvage yards out there?
Not looking for anything specific.... yet.
Thanks!

No, not Airstream-specific. There are a handful of general RV salvage yards, some may or may not have Airstreams they are parting out.

Colaws in Missouri used to have several Airstreams, but I'm not sure if they still do...

If an Airstream salvage yard were profitable, there would be one IMO.

The low volume of AS wrecks, difficulties in "parting out" the vehicle, plus geographic distances, etc. . . . all are "part" of the equation IMO.

Supply and demand basically.

We've been to Colaw's in person. It's amazing, and sad, to see all those wrecked/burned RVs. Colaw's had a large number of Airstreams when we were there a few years ago. They go out of their way to procure wrecked Airstreams so I suspect they still have quite a few trailers, but at any point in time they may not have what you want.

Colaw's typically removes any interior and exterior parts they think will be useful to others and stores those parts indoors or under a shed. Things like awnings, front quarter panel protectors, window protectors, propane tanks, some interior cabinetry are common items that might be removed for future use. Anything left inside the trailer will likely not be useable in short order because once a few windows are removed, the door removed, etc. the trailer will be open to the elements.

If you call them or email be sure to follow-up if you don't hear back from them. The staff is very busy and it's difficult to keep up with all the calls and email.

We purchased a storage cabinet with built-in writing table for our Airstream Classic/Excella. They just happened to have one in stock when we called and it was shipped promptly at a reasonable price.

Happy Hunting!

+1 on Colaws but like any salvage yard it's hit & miss. They have been patient and helpful on the phone when I've called, last time was a couple of years ago.

Does anyone know of a salvage yard that has Airstream Interstate 22's on hand for parts?
I'm looking for a left rear fender for a 2005 Airstream Interstate 22.
Thank you very much for any help!

I am sure those characteristics would pertain. The fact that we now might have pretty good optics because of forums like this might also help change things. One never knows who might see this and might know of an Airstream Interstate sitting somewhere. I think it is worth asking. "If you don't ask, the answer is already 'no' ".
