This is not required in Airstream's, providing you have a "house" battery on board. These boxes have a small battery in them & are typically used on flatbeds etc to power the brakes in the event of a breakaway.

We just require our house batteries to be functional (able to maintain a charge) and for the breakaway switch to be functional and connected to the proper area of the TV.

BTW - when's the last time everyone has tested their breakaway switch?

Easiest Way - yank the pin out of the box with umbilical discounted and you should hear your brakes engage (hydraulic you will hear the pump cycle) electric drum you will hear a hum near the drums.

Put the pin back in - they shut off....
