Mismatched spare size

Hi, I just bought my rig and didn't get a spare. It has 7.0x15 tires on it that are in great shape, and I don't want to replace them. I can't find the same size spare in my area. We're leaving for our first long trip this weekend. Does anyone see a problem with having a 225/75 for a spare.

Thanks.

For short haul, no problem.

I use 700 x 15 and have no trouble finding them. I use bias types. Any good tire shop can help. And, they should be able to give you accurate advice on comparable diameter tires if you need it.

Might be a good idea to get the numbers off those tires and just see how old they are. IF they are 6 or 7 years old,it might be a good idea to replace them before you embark on a long trip. Save yourself a lot of agrivation and damage to your AIRSTREAM . JUST A THOUGHT

2nd the comment on tire age, 100 degree air temps probably translate to 200+ blacktop which is a real concern, especially for older rubber.

It was 112 degrees here the other day. Before driving, the tow vehicle tire in the shade measured 124 degrees (had been in the sun earlier in the day), and the tire in the sun was 162. After driving about 50 miles, all were 128 to 132 degrees, lower than expected. Didn't measure temperature of roadway. Unfortunately, we didn't have our Bambi in tow.
