Minnesota to Tucson

On Monday we're heading for Tucson, AZ with the new Airstream. Any other snowbirds or such towing aluminum that way from Minnesota or Dakotas?

We arrived last night at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and we will stay here. (Both Navy retirees.) 92 degrees and clear sky, light breeze. Really nice, you will like it. Have a fun and safe trip.

We arrived today. We are in Justins Diamond J RV park to be close to my Mom. It sure was hot when we arrived. I hear it's going to cool down some this coming week. Steve keeps telling me it's not like home, it's a dry heat. To me hot is hot. Now when it drops down into the 80s I'll be happier.

Wintered mostly in AZ last year. Can't recommend Catalina State Park enough. Cleanest restrooms we've ever seen. Lots of hiking in the area. May let you stay over the 2 week limit if space permits.

There a a lot of great places to visit and see and camp in SoAZ in the wintertime...it's our "high season" for camping... Besides Cataline State Park in Tucson, there is also Gilbert Ray Campground (in the Tucson Mountain Park, run by Pima County) on the west side of the Tucson Mts...very nice desert. Elect, water available throughout the campground, but no water or sewer hookups at sites...has a dump station. Beautiful desert setting, and next door to Old Tucson and the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum, a must-see. Visit our travel log (link below) for more info...

And as Louis said above, if you're around for New Year's why not come to the 4CU New Year's Rally at Picacho Peak State Park between Tucson and Phx on I-10...it will be great....we'd love to have you...
