Las Vegas Campgrounds/Parks
Anyone know a good park?
I attend the IWCE convention every spring, and this year I have a bit more latitude, the boss is not going and and my companion Cindy is....
I have stayed in most of the strip hotels and am tired of that scene, so we thought a few days to get there and a few days to get home would be fun.
I need a good park in Vegas to make it work.
Any suggestions would be great...
Best Regards,

Circus-Circus has an on-site camp ground if IIRC. I've never stayed there and I think it is kind of like a parking lot with full hook-ups but it is cheap and there is an air conditioned moving sidewalk/sky bridge from the camp ground to the hotel/casino. It may be a different hotel, but I think that is the one.
There are others but the really fancy ones are motor home only and aren't directly on the strip.

The Las Vegas Oasis RV Resort is nice. Just a couple miles south of the strip off Blue Diamond Rd.
Welcome to Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort

Jeff,
I second Oasis RV park, it is very nice and south of the hotels, but easy to get to them. Circus Circus is a KOA and a flat no tree parking lot, but close to the hotels.

Jeff,
The real question is ill we have some interesting stories at the Branson Rally, or does "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"?

I stayed in East Las Vegas. Sam's town. They have two camping areas short term and long term. Kind of barren but quiet.

Jeff- If you care to share what you would like to do or see while here (outside of your AS of course), or do you just want to stay close to gambling and the convention. I'd be glad to share what I know of local parks, the area's their in, driving time to convention center, exc. No matter what your interests are we really do have alot going on here, Lake Mead, some neat canyons and such, depending on how much time you have.

I just got back from Las Vegas. We stayed at the KOA by Circus Circus. I was really nice and cost about $25. They have Airstreams there to rent, really nice dog park and amenities.

Thanks to all. We are formulating plans now. I like the look of the Oasis, at least online...
345Bill, thanks for the offer. We are working out details I have several meetings to attend, but I don't gamble much at all. We see what works out for time early this week.
Steve, I am afraid my what happens in Vegas years might be near the end, but I will see what I can do for a good story
Thanks again to all for the input!

So we will be passing through Las Vegas for one night only as we head back to California from the Grand Canyon. We decided to stay at Circus Circus and check out the airstreams and show mom The Strip. Guess how much a one night stay is with a patio.. $98.00 bucks! I asked if that was the cheapest and she said i can stay in a basic pull through for $87.00. Wow.. This is for early June and its convenient but WOW... Its anything but cheap.
Oh well. Happy to help the Las Vegas economy unless the whole thing is owned by a Chinese investment company..

We enjoyed Sam's Town and would stay there again. Certainly not a "resort" type campground - no "greenery" except the outside perimiter but its economical, well set up and well run. The casino is immediately adjacent with all of its own amenities and there is free coach shuttle to and from the Strip several times a day. If you are not planning on spending a lot of time in the campground then it is more than suitable.

I have stayed at Oasis RV Park. It was several years ago. The spots are as close together as you can get. Each slab has a little patch of grass and a table. I thought it was expensive at 4x. /night. They did have a shuttle that would take you to the strip and the grounds were nicely maintained.
But if we go back we will stay at Sam's town.

We stayed at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort on our way to Zion a couple of years ago. It was very nice... we'd stay there again.

Here is a couple photos of Oasis RV resort I took at Thanksgiving 2007 when we were there. These are premium sites which were nice for what we needed. Our site# was 313 which was close to the pool(nice one!) and clubhouse. I wouldn't want to stay in the standard sites in the back as they are shared...one driveway for 2 rv's.

Maybe Oasis would be a better option. Im sure everything is expensive and its only for one night but i was surprised that i could stay at Circus Circus in one of their airstreams for nearly the same price as bringing my own. Something seems wrong about that dont you think?

Has anyone ever boarded their pet (in our case, Lab) when in Las Vegas? Somewhere near the strip so we dont have to worry about her??

Vinnie- We have a handfull of stores called Pet Smart here in Las Vegas. I'm sure at least two have pet hotels inside. I'm guessing the hotel at their Stephanie St. store is about 8 miles east from the south end of the strip.
Their phone # is (702) 898-0055 if your interested. Hope this helps.
