Yes, and I kind of doubt that they'd ever be able to meet standards short of blowing up half the mountain and starting from scratch. Personally, I'd just as soon that the leave it just the way it is.
BTW, did you drive the Valley of the Gods road? Its ending (or start) is just just a mile or two before the bottom of Mokey Dugway. Beautiful drive!

Yes, we were offered a 'slimp' wheel which was more like a giant caster. The 'dolly' was less expensive but prevented the ability to back up. There was one time that that became a BIG problem. That is another story for another thread.

On the Back Roads
Here are a couple from Texas.
1) Road side rest area on the back roads. These little rest stops are disappearing fast. No restrooms or vending machines, just a little shade and a picnic table or two. Perfect for the Airstream!
2) Crossing the little bridge into Blanco State Park. This is a small little park and is absolutely immaculate! Kudos to the hosts and Rangers.

We really work hard to seek out those places where the crowds haven't yet arrived - or they've already gone home ......

Last week on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Mt Pisgah. High temps in the 70's lows around 60 F each night. It sure beat the mid 90's they were having at home!
