Norbert, I'm glad to see you posting here, and I'm looking forward to your photos. Have you been to Dauphin Island any time? We haven't since all the storm ravages, the last nearly severing a western part of the island, I hear. Nature plays fearsome games. Just a friend from several years back on these forums, ~G

Any last minute submittals this month? I have three prize packages to give out, so your chances are pretty good at winning. You guys have made my job tough...good job! Thanks for all the creative entries this month!
Just to recap, the theme this month is Abstract Airstream Art or Airstream As Art
Quote:
Your entries can take three different forms...- Details, details, details - I've always enjoyed the shots that really show off the beautiful details on our Airstreams and make me stop and think to recognize what part of the trailer it actually is
- Creative altered or "tweaked" images - get creative, be artistic, show your talent in seeing things with through a different mindset with special effects, colorization or ???
- Reflections - sometimes the images that are captured in the reflections on windows or aluminum are as picturesque as the location itself
|
I will select a winner in each of the three categories and then my favorite of those three as the 1st place winner who will get to run the February Contest. Good luck!

The results are in...
The submittals were ALL wonderful this month, which made this very difficult. Thank you to everyone!!!
First I separated them out into the three sub-categories - then tried to narrow it down to those I felt fit the topic best for each one. That's where it got tough! But, here goes...

Details, details, details...
Details, details, details
This was the hardest category to narrow down, because I really liked every entry! Seems like with each one that was submitted, IT became my "favorite". All these were winners...however, only being able to choose ONE to receive a "prize" (more on this later), I picked Mark Wiltrakis' black & white '47 Liner as the one that really caught my eye.

This category showed all the creativity of our members...these entries were all over the board! Ultimately, I picked Pintoman's psychedelic dream trailer. I chose it because I love the colors, movement and artistic creativity...I'd love to see what the original image looked like for this one.

There are so many awesome opportunities for great shots in this category with our silver trailers! I really liked all the sunsets, plays on light and colorful awnings. But, the one that stuck out to me most was Toastie's Camouflaged Caravel.

So, now...about those prizes...
The grand prize package goes to Mark Wiltrakis.
This is just B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L...pure Airstream!!!
The grand prize package includes your choice of a t-shirt or apron created by our buddy Michael Depraida, a medallion from the USS Arizona Memorial donated by Andy at Inland RV AND the opportunity to select the topic and judge the February Photo Contest! Please PM me your address so I can ship the medallion out and contact Michael (Artstream) to work out the details for your choice of his offerings. Then put your thinking cap on for the next contest theme!
The runners up each receive a crystal Airstream keychain donated by Andy at Inland RV...these will go to Toastie & Pintoman. Please PM me your addresses so I can ship these out to you.
Congratulations to all - thanks for playing!
Shari

Thank you Shari, Michael, and Brad! I'm working on a theme for the February photo contest and will get it posted soon - I'm looking forward to seeing more of what others have in their digital darkrooms. A camera should be on everyone's list of Essential Trailer Supplies.
Mark
