Just found this thread, and I love it. the images are poignant. Thanks for sharing. Regret not capturing my own through the years, but I think I have a new hobby.

Ken and Jobe, I agree we really have gotten some great pics and thanks to Bob for digging up some more.

Lumatic what a great photo! Makes you wonder how that came to be its final resting place.

like most airstreamers the guy must have liked his toys.

With all that moss on the roof it looks like a Hobbit house!

Chainsaw Rescue

This poor Argosy was lost deep in the weeds and housed a family of rats. It took a chainsaw and 4 wheel drive to get it out. I think it is now a chicken coup at Bakers Acres...

Old Airstream

I found this old Airstream at Herring Cove about eight miles south of Ketchikan, Alaska in 2003. My wife who is a nurse took a summer job in the ER in Ketchikan. We spent the summer there and had a wonderful time exploring the island. I don't know much about the Airstream other than it looked old and it was not being used. Jim Lawther

Bob, sad to see that cute little argosy saved just to be used as a chicken coop but as popular as they are maybe she will see a restoration yet.

Lumatic, if that's abandoned tell me where it is so I can go get it

Jim thanks for posting, what a great pic of an Alaskan airstream. I see the owner spent a little extra for the stovepipe option! I cant really blame him, if I had to spend a winter in an airstream up there I wouldn't be too concerned about vintage either.

Same trailer ?

Kevin, the trailer in post #23 looks like the same trailer in my post. My trailer had stovepipe and if you look close the trailer in post #23 has the hole covered up and the boat has AK on the side of it. ???

I think the biggest fans of these 'Forgotten Airstreams' would be the sales staff at Jackson Center...!

To be a fly on the wall at a sales meeting..."We need a new way to create more demand for these darn trailers that last for too many years - wonder if we could genetically engineer a new kind of termite to feed on aluminum rivets"...

Great photos...

Jim, sure looks the same, now we have an abandoned aluminum mystery!

Ray, all we can do is hope the salesmen never create such a beast!!
