1 Micro Air 2 Air Conditioners | Dilemma
I own a 2016 international 30ft. 2 airconditioners. This model has built in ducting. I purchased 1 EasyStart from Micro Air, as I only travel with 1 honda 2000.
Which air conditioner should I install it on? Is one of the units more efficient then the other because of its placement?
Thanks!

Install the EasyStart on the AC you use the most. Or, get another EasyStart.

Hi
After a bit of experimentation (we are on a 30A circuit so we can't run both units).
When you are awake, it's hot and you need the AC. At night it cools down and you need it less. (I have empirical data, the sun set here a little while ago.). The "kitchen" AC is bigger than the "bedroom" one (at least I think it is). We tried running one for a while and then running the other for a while. During the day, the "kitchen" unit was voted best. Right now if I shut off the vents here, the air goes pretty well into the sleeping area. Yes, that's on a Classic and not an International. 30' is still 30' ...
Have Fun !!

If the ACs are two different BTU sizes, i.e. 13.5 and 15K then I'd put it on the larger unit.

BINGO. Put it on the 15k unit which should be the front unit

Consider installing a second EasyStart, which should permit you to run both ACs at campgrounds with only 30A service; it works for us, with 15,000 and 13,600 Dometic Penguin II units, which is probably what you have. Joe

Thanks everyone! The unit in the front is bigger. I had no idea.
Great point on installing on both, especially for those 30amp sites.

Hi Dames. Presently in the Phoenix area, we have no installation dealers that we have worked with. The closest one is in Page, AZ, a long way from you. If you want to recruit your local RV servicing or Airstream dealer to do the installation for you, Micro-Air and I will be happy to provide them the necessary guidance.

Someone mentioned on another thread to run one AC (I'd do the 13,500 unit), and then just the fan off the other unit. The fan helps circulate the cold air.

Thanks, Micro Air found me a guy that installs these in Page, AZ and I was going there at the end of June anyway.
He has lots of these and only going to charge $50 and told me it will take about one hour.
After that we are going somewhere in CO., then to the International RALLY in JULY.
I have had back problems and just can't due the ladder thing, thanks anyway.

Hi
In this day and age, $50 is a *very* fair price to get something like that done.

Update: install went smoothly. The step by step instructions on the Micro Air site made the job simple. I filled the Honda generator up (1 gallon I believe). The air ran for three hours before running out of gas.

I have installed Easy Air's on both the front and rear A/C's. After putting the first one on the front unit, it was an easy call to add the second. Since I have the Magnum MSH-30 inverter and 4 6V AGM's, I decided to try out the A/C on the batteries only. (I had done this routinely at rest stops when it was hot in the trailer and I didn't want to start the generator.) Not unsurprisingly, the Easy Start seemed to get the A/C into cool mode fairly quickly. Motor starts right up, and a bit later the compressor kicked in. I ran it on the batteries for about 45 minutes and still had plenty of juice left. I am Easy Start advocate. Thanks for a great engineering job, Matteo.

Since the last comments are over a year old might I ask the same question. Ready to order new 27'. Since I live in Oregon one air would do but if there are dis-advantages to two, I think I would be better off down the road for re-sale, travel to Arizona etc.
Thoughts from others. Thanks
Dave
