Yet Another New Guy Here
Hi Everyone,
I have been living year round in campers for 20 years. I have wanted an airstream since I was a kid. I always loved the appearance and uniqueness of they have. This year I finally have a airstream (I'm 51 yo). I got a really great deal from a family member for a partially refurbished 1975 argosy. It worked out perfectly for me because I wanted to do the inside my way. I'm using it now and remodeling as I go along. I'm happy to be here and happy to be a owner of a vintage airstream .

Welcome! Would you please post some pictures of your Argosy? Those of us not currently working on a restoration always enjoy living vicariously through others. Good luck on your project!

Thanks! I'll be happy to snap some photos and post them. I've already made quite a few changes but remodeling is still ongoing with plenty more to do. The trailer is in good condition but not perfect by any means .

Thanks moosetags. I've have been reading here for a few weeks actually and decided it was time to register. These forums have answered most of my questions thus far. I hope I can help others as well with the experience I am getting.

I'll try and get some photos done very soon. I am hard after the project as I am residing in it already. Things are moving along pretty quickly. I'll just say it's a week on it. It had bare plywood floors, the walls and ceiling were all painted white and the plumbing was not finished. I've already done quite a bit of remodeling so photos will not be from start to finish, probably about halfway through now. LOL .. there should be a remodeling topic!

First pics of inside my argosy. Is bathroom and bedroom. You will notice I raised the floor in the bathroom. The AS did not have a commode but I had one already. After installing my feet didn't touch the floor when I sat down, so I raised the floor.
In the bedroom I removed one of the beds and put in a counter for my computer. In the space at the end of the counter I added a corner table top as a dining area although the stereo tuner is sitting on there waiting for it's shelf to go up.
I'll get the other end photos later today, too much stuff in the way now. I'm using a web cam so the pic quality isn't great.
Oh yeah, if I'm posting this in the wrong place please tell me.

Welcome, Looking good. The wall behind the computer is great, is that original or did you put it in?

Thanks for the welcome Teresa. I did the wall. Fortunately for me my neighbor is remodeling and I am making use of her discarded materials. Can't see it but I also added a slide out for the bed from my old camper so it becomes a full size bed if needed.

Thanks for the welcome Kenneth!
I'm working in the front half of the trailer and will post pics once I get it a bit more finished. As I said everything was just white from one end to the other except the bathroom. On another note, all the gas appliances save the water heater work with one flaw for the furnace (Subarban nt 22 c). It appears the gas valve doesn't shut off completely and the burner has a small bit of flame when the thermostat kicks off. I converted it to gas and electric and was using electric only till today. I will be posting how to do the electric/gas conversion after I make sure all is well and safe using the gas with the electric add on. My only concern is with how the wiring holds up as the gas tends to heat the entire furnace more than straight electric would. If all works properly you would be able to add electric heat to your existing system for around $40 to $75 bucks (used parts). Always nice to have the alternative in case the gas runs out in the middle of the night.

On another note, I'm having a ton of fun just being in my Airstream and getting it personalized for myself. I hope to go to some rallys next summer, it won't just be a parked trailer, but definately a year round home. I guess I'm somewhat of a gypsy, I like to see new places and meet new people. I love the nostalgia of the Airstream and it's heritage.
