Joining the ranks

I just bought a "new" 2008 Safari 25B. I've owned boxy tt's, fifth wheels, and motorhomes and all suffered here on the Oregon coast. My tow rig is a 2005 Tundra doublecab. I hope it will pull it well. I wanted the queen bed which I understand has been phased out in the later models. I've been doing a lot of research online, and in fact haven't even seen my purchase in person yet. I have held it with a deposit and plan to pick it up this weekend. I'm almost retired, and my father owned a 31 ft. Excella in the 70's. Any tips other than never buy sight unseen!? The finance package on the "new" tt will save thousands over the new MSRP, and in fact it will cost less than many used ones advertised online. I'm thrilled to finally have what I've always wanted! Steve

Was it something I said?

I guess I didn't post my questions very well. Does anyone have any tips about a 2008 25B Safari AS? Will my 2005 Tundra handle the rig? Does anyone have a spec sheet for the Safari 25B? Any responses are more than welcomed. I just bought my first "real" RV today, and will pick it up next week. Thanks, Steve

Welcome Steve, and congrats on being just a few short days away from owning your own Airstream! Good luck with the dealership this weekend and let us know how things work out.

Congratulations! I am sure you will be fine. My only recommendation is you add a decent hitch system - Hensley, Reese, there are a number of them on the market. Enjoy!

Congrats and welcome. There is an active group of NW airstreamers - maybe we'll meet. There are several forum members in your area including campcollector who is a state park ranger. Have fun with the new rig
