While on the subject of hoping he gets his price...WOW!
eBay Motors: AIRSTREAM ENTRY STEP - ALUMINIUM -1950'S VINTAGE STYLE (item 160220987914 end time Mar-27-08 17:52:51 PDT)
Please tell me this person just didn't rivet on an Airstream nameplate and now wants $150 for this. Please tell me this step is actually worth more than $50 without the riveted nameplate.
Maybe it's just me, but the Airstream world seems to have gone mad. Then again, I shouldn't talk, one of the Airstream Life eBay watch items was mine about a year or so ago!

Twink,
That's exactly what he did!!!!
"Up for auction: 1950's STYLE VINTAGE AIRSTREAM STEP. I made this step, for fun, from a picture I saw of an Airstream trailer show in 1950's Los Angeles, California."
If somone is stupid enough to buy this for that price....they deserve what they get!!!!!

If you flip it over, you've got a really nice ice bucket to keep your favorite beverages cold.
That's gotta be worth something!

Darn! My bid didn't go through. I guess he is doing a D&B on everyone before accepting the bid!

Well, no shocker that no one has bid on the trailer, but someone did bid on the step....$150 sounds a bit steep, maybe I should buy some nameplates and stick them on many things and charge $100!

You know what they say, "there's a sucker born every day" and "a fool and his money are soon departed." One is incorrectly attributed to P.T. Barnum and the other is a Proverb.
Either way, some poor schmuck will probably wind up with a shiny new step for his/her Airstream simply because he/she can't weld.

Amazing. I've got to admit, I like some of the interior design. But the coach won't hang for REAL camping.
Wanna bet his reserve is between $200,000 and $250,000? He obviously doesn't listen to the VAP. You never get back all the money you spent when selling a reno/resto.

Hmmm.... For that price, I can buy a spankin' new 34-foot Classic with slide out and a brand new, top of the line, diesel truck to tow it with. Plus, I'd still have enough cash left over to cover fuel costs for a few vacations.
Can you imagine trying to get that thing insured for anywhere near what it's going to take to buy it? I can just hear my State Farm agent's hysterical laughter now.

Chances are whoever buys it can afford to self-insure. Plus - if you're willing to pay the premiums, you can insure anything at any value.

I know. I have a 1984 VW Scirocco that is insured for about three times the book value, but the hurdles associated with getting it that way took several months and a ton of work on my part.

There is no question in my mind that it's a nice trailer and for an urban camper with lots of scratch, the right one if done right and have the tow vehicle to match the need.

No wait! It must be worth it because it's got a retro clock. It's in a great location for hanging dishrags. The second hand twitching underneath is a hoot!
Nothing was mentioned about new axles. But you wouldn't be pulling this anyway -- what's the weight of Corian per cubic foot? Everybody sing, 'Separation, rear end separation, comin' down the trail...'
I'd pay that much + a dollar if they did a two-fer with the saintly english muffin.

...but the reserve is not met. As long as that is the case any bids are meaningless. The seller can always lower the reserve though and then that shill bidder will be sweat'n.
