Ok, today they finally finished all the tons of tuneups under the proverbial hood.

The brand new radiator is installed and good to go. I'll get specific part and company info on the radiator when I pick up my 280 tomorrow and I'll post it here.

Next stop to get my set of new tires installed.

So far so good for staying on schedule to make it to Penn Wood at all costs (literally).

My airstream will be mostly a silver tent on wheels during the Penn Wood trip because I won't have had time to test (or fix if needed) any of the inside appliances or plumbing beforehand, but at least it can (hopefully) mechanically make it to the rally.

I hope Penn Wood has a bathroom and shower for me to use while I'm there. Hehe!

No worries mate, all of us will have fresh water and a BBQ you can use. I always shower at the campground as the shower in my 310 doesn't really fit my 6'3" frame. Just go out and get an electric cooler if you're unsure about your fridge. If you haven't got your propane system checked yet I would buy a ceramic heater for heat.

Cheers
Tony

Thanks Tony, that all sounds great.
I'm also going to bring a few gallon jugs of fresh water.

Tap, I suspect with the gear heads, spare parts, and knowledge base attending the Get Together any issue you have going into the weekend will be fixed before you leave!

I am a little like Tony, the on-board wetroom is for when no other option is available and typically use the campsite facilities. If all else fails I hear Brad has a hotel room nearby!

Am I missing a piece here on my screen door? Is there a sliding piece or something that normally covers this gaping square hole?

Yes Tap, there is a square plastic panel that slides out of the way to give access to the lock if opening from inside.

They are available from the online retailers or Airstream but come in a couple of different sizes so you need to be careful to get the right in.

The square hole measures 8" tall by 6" wide.

Looks like this is what I need and then I'll have to trim it slightly.

Is there anything that can be done for rust rings on the laminate counter and rust on the cooktop cover?

Guys, my 210 is now running well, but it is *SUPER* loud when I accelerate.

It's quiet enough when it's just idling, but whenever I push down on the gas peddle it sounds just like a Harley Davidson convention.

Super loud inside and outside. It sounds like it's right up front. That can't be normal. We wouldn't even be able to talk in the RV.

So what is that?

My guess is the exhaust must not be connected or has a big hole, so it isn't being muffled by the muffler?

Do you think that's it?

Lift your engine cover and see if you can isolate where the leak is. That is, if you think its coming from up front. If not there, youre going to have to get underneath and inspect your exhaust.

Both the exhaust manifold to head connection and the back of the headers connection to the tail pipe are suspect and common leak points.

Hopefully the parts are OK. So you can get gaskets and just bolt things back together.
There is some question about the use of gaskets between the manifold and the heads. I just installed gaskets there and am happy with the results.
Between those and new donut gaskets at the collector pipe the noise as well as fumes in the cabin are MUCH MUCH IMPROVED!

It's nice that there is so much clearance under these coaches that its possible to crawl around and check out these things with out a lot of jacking etc.
