People arriving in droves and trickles, outrageous pre-tournament golfing(yer success in this really depends on a 1/2 inch rock...), a campfire after the inaugeration of the Margiball(and all other forms of liquidation),UFO kiting, lost dogs gone found(after dark!), and brilliant kids joining the campfire...lordy, ya wanna be here...the folks here are ok, too...
a little windy, tonight(not like last night, yet), but enough so to run through the firewood assembled...gotta go find another deconstruction...firepit is big enough to burn a palate at a time we tyoasted the absent, and the willing, and then anyone else that wasn't here...then we just toasted...GREAT GROUP OF FOLKS!!!...g'nite

Glad to hear no one got lost.....
Who all is out there playing while the rest of us pine away somewhere other than the rally?
Dang, it's darned hard to be stuck at home when others are out having a tremendous time.
You'd better have another drink for those of us who cannot attend.
Take care,
Barry

Men attacking sheets of plywood with hand axes, bent bow saws, bare hands, and automobiles...the carnage was great, and the firewood results were better...really windy, but still...FOOD...!!!...libations, and then more of both...wandering cross-country vehicle caravans(we should turn...back there...oddities and missing artifacts...cheap prizes, artful prizes, a crowning EARLY in the race for TTQ(and I have THE tiara to prove it), a delayed-on- account-of-wind-and-aluminum-integrity-concerns golf match, and the usual continuation of thinly-veiled complimentary insults and observations...I am enjoying this, but the airhorn at midnight-thirty woke up some older, disgruntled folks who evidently were unarmed, except for specific verbage of physically impossible feats...but they stayed in bed.

Just got back. We had a *GREAT* time. Helluva group a folks. Interesting things to see, lot of free wind and open desert for miles. Pot-luck was outstanding. Herky-pig can cook some meet!
Hit rain big time coming back to what was supposed to be sunny tucson, but instead was sleeting. Never did find the plastic sunroof cover that blew off somehwhere on the way out.
Stopped for lunch at a rest area/no facilites, fired up the BBQ and had hamburgers. Nothing like good food on the road . Even had some folks take a pic of the rig.

We got back a short time ago. Would have been sooner, but I am getting slow at changing trailer tires on the side of I-10. I saw the spray of rubber from the wheel well and stopped before it lost any pressure. Slight damage to the trim in the wheel well, but a few rivets should take care of that.
This was a great weekend despite my little problem on the trip home. Steve and Reg found there dogs and none of the dogs wet my outdoor rug! We have an official TTQ, crowned and all!
Pictures to follow.

Back in the city of angels after a first class A-one rally.
Weather was perfect. Cold and windy. Any weather is perfect when you're out camping.
Food was steller with more than we could eat as much as we tried.
Mike looks very nice in his new tiara.
Timemachine's carpet and welcome mat was the designated doggie tinkle and dookie spot. Much to everyone elses amusement and Jans embarassment.
Who's airhorn was that?
The best part of the weekend were the people there. This crowd would make root canal something you'd want to do again.
Jim, Min & Safari 57 had so many drinks and toasts we all had to crawl back to our beds.
Jim and Min you were truly missed. Get well soon Min!

AND...the last night for all of the diehards was outstanding...Musical talent from rock to bluegrass...LIVE...thanks to Paul And Janice for the talents...we even formed a new 4CU Review-trained and encouraged by The Blue Shoe Kazoo.com originator, we formed the Blue Shoe Kazooioaki Review, for you, too, and serenaded everyone out of the area...the coyotes gave us a critique, but we managed to run them off, too. GREAT night...no wind, to speak of, about 10 cords of wood, a little tequila, and several Kazoo artists in tune with themselves, but. apparently, not with each other...
Ate dinner at the Palo Verde restaurant, 12 at the tables, and just finally shut this puppy down about 20 minutes ago...
Thanks to everyone for coming, and, oh, by the way...I tripped over a golf ball this afternoon, which made me the trophy winner in the first 4CU Invitational Open...Ron was taking a nap, and no one else had any clubs, so I won by default...closest to something...not sure what, but pretty sure it wasn't dog pee, as I believe John and Cat took most of that back with them.
Truly an enjoyable outing, but...where are you guys...? We're waitin'...

Tim Can pulled up to the last stop (home) around 1:00 AM this morning. Gabe got his second wind at 1:15 AM. Gabe needs his own shot glass.
I prefer the late driving versus missing moments like the ones we shared in Q-Town. My sincere thanks and "hope to see ya soon" to everyone there.
Mike has shown, what I believed all along, that manly men look darn good in a quality Tiara. It was a little too windy and rocky for the stiletto heels. As the organizer and offical TTQ, I hold you personally responsible for the outstanding and unforgettable experiences that we will forever cherish.

Hello friends...Wandering Wanda here...your roving reporter from the internationally famous Quartzsite Tattler with a report from the field.
The big news from the infamous 4CUQR had to be the crowning of the Queen.
It was a truly moving ceremony and there wasn't a dry eye in the place (well maybe the high winds contributed to the eye watering).
And people were certainly dressed to the nines for the event.

The California contingent found the rally camp easily since it was so well marked.
(Ya gotta love the gratuitous out-the-window-shot but do you have any idea how hard it is to drive with one hand in the wind while towing a trailer and snapping photos?)

We took the Official Scrappy Tour of Town
(yes it was worth the 50 cents we had to pay)
and got lots of new landscaping ideas.

There was a large group of remarkably well behaved canines present.
(well except for the runaways, the burrito snatcher, and the countless attempts to defile Michael's and John's carpets, mats, and anything else that was left on the ground...)
Okay, let me rephrase that: There was a large group of dogs there.
