Hey Mike, how are you making out? Hopefully there is a sufficient supply of refreshments at hand to get you through this down time.
Any time I hear someone speak of grinding in the rear of their vehicle I'm reminded of a similar problem with the wagon. We could not find it. Replaced brakes and all the springs and clips, turned the drums, finally swapped out the whole rear diff and then did the almost new u-joints again. Just wouldn't go away and was leary of driving it. Had it on the hoist and was polishing the wheels while thinking and as I turned the front wheel on that side I hear this strange noise. Pull it off and sure enough, the bearing had gone awol. All that dicking around I did on the rear diff and here it was the front wheel bearing. It sounded to me and to everyone else like it was coming from the back end while driving the car. I sure ended up with a nice rear end in the car though with much better ratio
