Four Corners Unit Balloon Rally (2007)
The Four Corners Unit is planning a GREAT rally at the 2007 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. We will be camping beach front right on the grounds of the Balloon Fiesta. If you have never been before, this is a great opportunity to see this event close up - the balloons will be taking off yards from your front door. For more information log on to 2007 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
The dates are to arrive Oct 5th and leave the morning of the 9th. The cost at this point is $65 per night which INCLUDES FREE entry to all events for up to 4 people. There is no rally fee - just the cost of the event itself. We can work details as we get closer for things we want to do while we are there - we can pass the hat around for that. See our website at Four Corners Airstream Camping Unit
I've reserved 20 spots at this point - we have three signed up so 17 are left - The only catch is I will need a head count within approx two weeks as the camping at the Balloon Fiesta fills up fast. There is a refund policy in place in case you need to cancel later, however, I suspect we could fill the spot.
A fresh water truck and pump out service is available, however there are no elec hookups. Generators are ok and solar works great.
This is the perfect family rally so bring the kids and pets and lets have a great time at this VERY popular and NOT TO MISS event!
Please let us know soon
Ken J.

Professional Highly Paid Rally Greeter Needed...
just an observation, but someone w/ a sparkling personality and worthy of shamelessly shilling events should start posting funny stuff here.
but then again...
maybe not.
especially if you only need twenty units, which is less than 26, so this would be a rally.
however if you had more than 26 units this would be a convention.

Tips on Setting Up Rally...
mr. ken j,
if i were you, which i'm not, i'd do this, which you can do or not...
a) set up the forum rally calendar, see below, it's really easy. there; from the calander, people could find out who else is going, and how to send in there $$$.
b) empty out your forum mailbox (all 200 messages, please erase), which is full, so people can take there business back channel, instead of broadcasting it world wide, like right now.
c) don't start a seperate thread for the pot luck. do it all here.
i'd help you with this, but two weeks notice (starting today) for a rally in october seems a little harsh, although i sold out the nor cal forum rally single handely in 5 days and that was w/ four months advance notice.
so, i have a large tribe from california that likes to rally, or an even larger posse that likes to go to conventions, were funny (sometimes) and loud (all the time), and well were givers... we even over decorate our 'streams, and cook well, REAL WELL, (I won't get into the issue of drinking, my horses are a mess) did i mention were even snappy dressers, but we don't like SOB's... i know were odd that way...
ok, i'll bite, where DO we send the money, and sign up...
love,
kev

Kev
Actually this has been on our rally calander for a long time - the nature of this rally and always be very tight as far as reservations - there is incredible demand for RV sites at the Balloon Fiesta - We are very lucky that they let me set aside 20 sites without money at this point.
Sorry about the inbox - kinda crept up on me.........
Oh I agree I think all of our Balloon rally discussion can be done here - hope I did not imply seperate threads for the pot luck.
We (the Four Corners Unit) is in the process of setting up a method for getting money to us - remember our unit is now a whole week old - so if you could give us a week or so, will have a method to accept money. At this point we are just looking for committments.
So, Kev - we can count on you all to feed and clothe us? IIIIIII likkkke that!!!! FOOD! you ummmm did say that....?
And...... do your horses talk? hmmmmm
Cheers
Ken J.

Sign me up....Scotty!!!!! (oh, sorry that's another show!)
Anyway, I will be headed back FL from the Pac NW sometime around then so why not hit the balloon fest. Maybe........might even get a little work out of it while communing with my fellow Airstream nuts from the FCU!
Think there will be any demand for an RV tech at the festival?
Anyway, let me know where to send the dough..........................

A Must Do
Hello Ken and to all those that have NOT been to this event. In a previous life I was there without knowing a balloon festival was in town, my hotel room was almost twice what normal was. Only to discover all those balloons from around the WORLD were in town. Its a site to behold in person, pictures, tv can not describe or give the feeling of being there. To see 300 plus balloons lift off at the same time float towards the mountains and catch an up draft and return is an amazing site to see. And from I've read here you got the BEST area for viewing this event. Just thinking how awesome its was I gotta go back count me in.

mr. ken j,
with a little extra time we could'a had us a airstream convention (over 26 units). on another note, please add to your now bulging and dog eared list, two equines, lightning 'n thunder.
richard & jan, please photoshop my special airstream optional balloon arrivial & departure harness only available on certain '05 FFA CCD's.

Up, up and away ....
Hi Ken:
Sign me up too, it sounds like a great event and a superb location from which to watch everyone get high. And with all that hot air, I'll fit right in. I look forward to meeting other FCU members there.
