We are home safe and sound. We left this morning about 5:30am and got home at 2:30pm. I have never seen so many airstreams in one place. Love the vintages and new ones. James and I had a great time and already planning to put this rally on our 2010 calendar. Congratulations to all who won special awards, and congratulations to all who did a lot of work to get your rigs ready for the rally. We enjoyed meeting everyone. Gayland and Jim S. if it wasn’t for you guys we probably wouldn’t have came and we would have missed out on a great time. Everyone is invited to our 2009 Branson Rally, first weekend in April, check the forum for details. James and I hope everyone made it home ok. P.S. the weather was great, little windy but we are use to that in Oklahoma.

To a bunch of great Texans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know there were a few in leadership roles and seminar presenters that I had opportunity to personally thank for the great rally. For all other's who did so much to make this a great rally, and all rally attendee's, please also accept my personal thanks. I apologize to those we may have disturbed when leaving at 5:30 this morning, but had to get an early start on the first 10-hour leg of our 16-hour journey home. Hope to see you all again "down the road".

time to rest up
I put as many pictures as I could on the Rally section. Hope you all enjoy them. After having the last few days to relax at the Rally I am home...back to the hectic life.....see photo. I had to leave a "quiet" park with bumper to bumper campers...all getting away from it all....and come back here to the normal day to day.
P.S. I'd really like to strangle the 0500 Harley commuter at the Park. Won't miss him.

CJ & James - I think we all just had a ball, a unique rally to be sure
I find it hard to choose what I enjoyed the most. The trailers were so beautiful. The many seminars so fun & informative, so well presented. But maybe the best of all was the people - old friends renewing it all, and making new friends. Steve "Soldiermedic" was fun to meet & put a face to. My thanks to everyone who worked so hard on their trailers, those who attended from so very near & far, and the good Highland Lakes folks who pulled it all together. For those who missed out - let me tell you that Dale / Pee Wee is a hoot!! Tons of great memories to share and just an overall genuinely nice man - but maybe not as nice as his wife Susan.
My thanks to everyone!!
Jim

Great rally! Thanks to those who worked hard to make the event what it was.
We enjoyed meeting all of the friendly Airstreamers.
Going home we did not have the Irish blessing "May the wind be always at your back." We had a headwind with reported 44 MPH gusts all the way. Made me glad we have an Airstream!

Man, I was busy doing "other" things, and miserably failed to get any pics of the Sovereign (interior AND exterior) during the open house - if anyone has any high resolution (or other) pictures of my unit I sure would appreciate it if you would forward them to me.
Please use the address below for the attachments, PM me for a valid address where I can receive attachments, or post them on your Photo Gallery here on the forums (but let me know that they have been uploaded) -
Address - use some common sense in interpreting the correct format:
dwatermann at comcast dot net
Thanks

Yes, many thanks to Gayland, Jim, John, and the many many others who put on such a great event. I was only able to stop by on Saturday and just for the day, but it was great finally meeting many of you who I've chatted with online for about a year now.
I now have even more inspiration to complete my trailer so I can be an active participant, rather than just an observer, next time.
Thanks again!

This was our first WBCCI event ever (we joined in November) and it was GREAT. Thanks to all the folks that put this together. If other rallies are half as well done as this one, we will be having a wonderful time. Thanks to everybody who worked so hard to put this one together.

'splain this thing to me
I did a double take as I looked at the numbers. I just thought each unit carried its own numbers..I guess its the owners number. Regardless....I luv it all. Will the real 1777 please step up?

Both of those numbers and both of those trailers belong to Pat McDowell who is Region 9 Vintage Chairman and who presented some of the restoration seminars.
The partially restored unit in the background also belongs to Pat. He brought one of those trailers for PeeWee and Susan Schaumberg to stay in during the rally.
Incidentally, Pat has 5 Airstreams and all can carry the number 1777.

Rally Newsletter
In addition to our usual unit newsletter for the month, I put out a "Rally Special Edition" with all of the rally info from our regular newsletter and a lot more photos. There is a list of awards and a list of door prize winners.
