is there an "after-party" scheduled this year, like I've seen in past years? I might be in the area the following week. won't make the main rally, though.

Wingfoot: Early parking is the 20th but you need to have a "special form" to be parked early. If you have already registered you should have a parking date already.
Bofrog & Mr Turbo: Day passes can be had, you will need to see the rally treasurer to get the proper credentials to attend rally events. The daily rate is normally calculated on site.
Chuck: There is a post rally rally this year, it is at Universal Studios on the 27th and 28th. It will be dry camping, no hookups The fee is $65.00 and you need to contact the same person that is acting as the rally treasurer to sign up for this post rally event. The 65.00 DOES NOT include the entrance to the park. There will be discounted tickets available.
Here is a link to the rally sign up sheet http://www.airforums.com/forums/198505-post5.html

Well if the "Movement" has not pelted us with tomatos by then - we will be signing up shortly.
It would be great to have a social - bring the umberellas - last year we had a shower just as we sat down - had to move to a friendly gentlemans Awning

Oh, yes. I remember reading that, now.
Oh, well. I'm scheduled to come down on the 28th, not arriving 'till evening. So again, I'll miss it. unless anyone's lingering in the area for a few extra days....

Yes too true - hope you will have more time too - as I remember you being tied up on a conference call.
So you gave in....thought you were not going for the awning on your baby??? - to keep the clean lines was it?? Maybe the hot sun in your travels out weighed the hot sun and comfort??
Will be nice to meet up with you again Brett maybe this time we can talk about things other than selling our MoonBeam and fixing the broken wing window Although we did loose another one this year the big flat front - Peter is thinking of taping up the boot mat again on the otherside this time. Well one more and we will not need a rock guard and they say everyting comes in threes.

We will be travelling in our Safari and staying on the Skyway Bridge the 21st. We will be travelling for seven weeks, mostly in Florida, might pass through the Outer Banks, NC on the way down and the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way back home.

The clean lines were not the issue, it was purely a budgetary shortfall. . I also hope to not have to work as much during the rally, riiiight
The really cool thing is that now I have my OWN awning to present awning classes on!

Sarasota rally
Hi all,
We are new to AS's and this board so be kind.
I cannot find any information about the rally. I found the sign up form but nothing explaining the rally. Could someone direct me in the right direction or tell us about it. We are ex-motorhomers and have attended many FMCA rallies and had good times. Would like to attend AS rallies now but would like some info on them. Are there hookups? How many attend? What goes on? These are the things we would be interested in learning. Is there still time to sign up for the Sarasota rally?
Thanks for your help.

I don't have exact information on rally activities, they change from year to year. The rally is fun, there is plenty to do and you will end up with a ton of new friends. The rally starts with a flag ceremony, and ends with a nice non-denominational church service. For the most part it is laid back fun. There will be seminars like at the FMCA rally, but these are normally presented by Club Members, some will be by vendors, but only a few. There will be games, and contests like photography, hobby, and craft with displays.
Hope to see you there!

We will be there also. Going in early as a worker on Sunday the 2oth. We are bringing our Globetrotter and a 58 Pacer that the Pensacola Unit will give away next fall via a raffle. I intend to have a polishing demo on the Pacer sometime during the rally. Also I have VAC's two presentations on Airstreams ("Airstreams 1932-1957" & "Airstreams 1958-1968") and will try to find a time to show them. They were developed by Fred Coldwell who was the VAC Historian until last year.
