Our 310 Airstream Motorhome will be leading the parade and will be decked out with christmas decorations and a "special" light show in the rear bedroom, "conducted" by my friend Rodney
Then we have Kevins 17' 1965 caravel in the middle of the Parade. We just decided to decorate the Caravel completely and exclusively with pink
flamingo's. This also serves to show our appreciation to Dennis and Mary, Mike and Lora, Deb and Ken for the awesome Flamingo contests they arranged for us for several years!
If you have some cool Flamingo for the Caravel decoration, please bring it along.

The Caboose of the parade will my friend Joe in his vintage kin all aluminum class C. Besides being decorated in a festive spirit it will sport a sign with three cowboys riding off into the sunset.

I am helping/running the silent auction. Any items that you think someone will bid on are welcome. Obviously anything Airstream related, or flamingo related, would probably do well. Please think outside the box, however: golf passes, spa packages, liquor baskets, gift cards, sports tickets, etc. Aunt Meemee's afghan will probably not do well.

A flat out cash donation is fine.

If you have items and can let me know what they are in advance, or even get them to me, then great. Otherwise we can make it up as we go along at the rally. I am in San Antonio.

Maybe I am being overly optimistic, but I would like to hand the Blanco COC a donation of at least $500.00.

Thanks.

David, Thank you for stepping in for Bruce and Roseann.
I forgot to tell you that The Blanco COC asked us to make the donation to "The friends of Blanco Statepark"
Friends of BSP -- Home
This organization has been, on a volunteer basis, in charge of rebuilding the park as well improving it.
Looking froward to working with you an having a great camp out.

Yes, I stand corrected. Our donations will go to the "Friends of Blanco State Park". Let's get those silent auction items coming in!

On an administrative note, it will be much easier if payment is made by cash or check. Please, no credit cards.

Thanks.

Thumbs up Who Are the Friends of Blanco State Park?

The friends of the park are volunteers who are working to remake many of the parks former amenities like the Bird Blind which washed away. They have also taken several fallen trees, and made them into benches for the bathhouse.
Here are some photos of the park in the flood and the work being done then and now.

I should add that the Campground was NOT affected by the flood and is in perfect order.

Thanks, guys. Hopefully I will have a good outcome. As to a race, don't quite think I will be ready for that.

See you there.

Greetings all. We are about 30 days out from the Christmas rally. Please let me know if you have items "in waiting" for the silent auction. Thanks.

Ken and I have only today been able to confirm my work schedule won't allow us to attend. Therefore I cancelled our spot in the circle today. Hopefully we can attend next year, we will miss the festivities.

Camp Sites

Same here with us, if anybody cancels a site we would love to get into the park. If you cancel please let us (or others in this forum) know directly as once you cancel online with TPS it is released to the outside world also looking to get in.
Before we had reservations transferred to us rather than canceling.
Thanks! Richard & Bonnie

Hey Gang. OK, the silent auction has morphed into a raffle drawing to make the ease of administration easier on everyone. We will sell raffle tickets, and then just do a drawing for the various donated items. So far we have about half a dozen items, including a completely restored 1962 Airstream Overlander 26 foot (JUST KIDDING!!!!!!), and a just-used-twice "stinky slinky" (REALLY JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!).

Seriously, any donated items will be greatly appreciated. The proceeds are going to the Friends of Blanco State Park to assist in their flood restoration efforts.

Outright cash donations are fine as well.

As I understand it, we will do the drawing Saturday evening after we all get back from the parade. I think some light refreshments & cookies are in the works.

Thanks to all.

Get on it with those donations!!

Thumbs up More Fun Blanco CIty Events that Weekend

...there are even more things going on this year in Blanco during our rally.
On Saturday there WILL be Market Days, in the morning around the old Courthouse, also there is a 5K Beer Run from our favorite Brew Masters here's the flyer for it., so if you are a" RUNNER" you may want to add this to your weekend plans..... if you do not want to walk 5 K we should be able to watch the runners from town or along the Blanco River....

This is event #6 in the Run in Texas 5K Six Pack Series. Starts and finishes at the very cool, very hip Real Ale Brewing Co. The course runs south through downtown Blanco, by the Blanco River and back to the brewery. One water stop at the 1.5 mile point will be manned by a local non profit. After cooling off, runners can hit the tasting room where they will recieve a finisher glass and up to 4 x 8oz tastings. More cool things you can expect are:
  • Brewery Tours!
  • Stroller friendly course!
  • Dog friendly! (must obey leash laws and pick up after fifi or fido)
  • Food Trucks!
  • Music!
  • When Saturday, December 12, 2015
  • 9:00 AM
