Pecatonica Forest Preserve
Yes, there is electricity, anywhere from 15 amps to 50 amps
There is no water hook up, but they have fill-up spots all over.
There is a dump station, and easily accessed bathrooms.
Plus a hoot owl.
It is really a great place, but it's not near city "doings".. Pecatonica has an ice cream shop and a pizza place, and a few little stores; plus a grocery.
Everyone needs to be prepared to come and relax for a time.
It's not exactly "high energy."

OK, I have pulled all the big parts out of the Overlander (Shell Shock) It looks like this will work for short weekend trips like RaChelle has stared here for all of us. (Thank you)
Form what I can read here it looks like there will be about 5 or 6 of us there. Cool!!!
I will be at the Northern Illinois unit instalation rally next weekend to try things out. Will they love to see a smashed coach.
Any thoughts on a designated marshmallow roasting time???

Wish we could join you, but our "gotta get out of here" escapade is going to be this next weekend to Traverse City, Michigan. Drat, I wish the timing were different because we'd love to spend some time with you Airstreamers at your rally. By the way, if any one has any tips for a weekend in the Traverse City area, please post them or PM me. Max has a day of business, but we'll have at least one good day there outside of the traveling time. We'll be going sans Gypsy, I am sad to say. Have fun in the woods

I have the semi-permanet tail lights ready to install now. I can not wait to see the looks on the faces at the unit installation rally this weekend. They are my test run for the October relaxation rally.

Free Hamburgers
OK, guys, if you won't come willingly, we'll bribe you.
Gary and I will be providing hamburgers and the requisite goodies for fixings, if you require anything weird, such as jalapenos or possum droppings, bring it along for yourself.
We'll also bring firewood and build a nice big fire, but probably not as big as a bonfire due to it being a Preserve.
We'll have a potluck Saturday afternoon (including our burgers) and if it rains there's a covered shelter house we can use.
There is electricity, easily accessible bathrooms, and water fill-ups all over the place.
We just got home from there this weekend, and it was simply beautiful.
I'll start an attendee list pretty soon. Check in, OK?

RaChelle,
Put us down for 5.2. Max won't be eating.
We had a great test run this weekend and will be mostly ready for Pecatonica in two weeks!! Yea!!!! I even know how to work the awning now. We will bring some sort of sweet, but a dish to pass is easy too. I also have some fire wood to throw in.
See ya all there........

Still Planning On Coming
Just checked the Weather Channel 10 Day forcast. Even though it shows a chance of rain on Friday we still intend on coming.
Fixing the freshwater tank strainer this week and doing a little work on the van, so, we should be in good shape.
The better half is up for potluck and deserts.
See You There,
Tom and Sue.

Northern IL - So Wisconsin Oct 14 '05 AUTUMNFEST
I have marked the date in my daily calendar and plan on making the trip -- unless the dealer has to keep my Suburban when I take it in on Monday (the 4WD transfer case electronic controls have started to blow fuses again -- the 7th time since I purchased the truck new) -- the last time this happened, the dealer had the truck for nearly two weeks trying to get the necessary repair parts.
I am trying to make arrangements to get away on Friday, but that is not too promising at present -- I will definitely be able to get away in the early AM on Saturday.
Kevin

We have heat in the trailer!!!! Man that Suburban 22 kicks out some heat raised the temp from 60 to 72 in 10 minutes. Co detector didn't show any thing, so I guess all is well. Now for the water system.

Just a clearification on the address if any of you are map challanged like me.
7260 Judd Rd & 14260 Brick School Road is the address per the Winnebago COunty Forist Preserve web sight. From what I have found this corner is a bend in the road that goes from east, west (Brick School Rd.) to north, south (Judd Rd.) The entrance must be off the "corner"
This is not ment to step on any toes......

OUCH!! MY TOES!!
KIDDING.. anything any of us can do to help each other is JUST FINE.
Brick School Road DOES have a Judd Road sign at the curve. But you'll see the entrance with little or no trouble. Also, you can pm me for our phone number in case you get turned around. That way if any of us have any trouble,, we'll have a contact person. OK?
