The weather for this weekend is looking FANTABULOUS!

We are seriously considering playing HOOKY from work, and heading out Friday night,a nd NOT coming to work saturday :-)

That's the plan for THIS minute :-)

It really depends on what happens sales-wise, and lay-a-way wise at the shop this week, and I won't know till Friday afternoon.

We are leaving Friday late morning. That should put us out there around noonish.

Both water leaks are fixed, but the pump does not seem up to the task. I will look into this further tomorrow. Maybe I can find a spot near the water hook up and just tap into it.

Murphy's Law has been busy around my house

I knew that it wasn't good news when my mechanic called shortly before I was to retrieve my Suburban Monday morning. The old problem with the 4WD transfer case has reappeared (blown electronic control module) with a new friend -- the output shaft seal was also leaking profusely -- so my tow vehicle will be out of service and at my regular mechanic's until I can make the 300 mile trip South to get the Suburban (I was in Southern Illinois for the long Columbus Day weekend).

I was really looking forward to this outing, but it doesn't look like I will have a tow vehicle available.

I'm blowing off Friday as well. The plan is to leave about 3PM to make the park in daylight.
Even though I make a habit of driving in circles trying to find things, did the address ever get pinned down? Maybe GPS co-ords?

Just a clearification on the address if any of you are map challanged like me.

7260 Judd Rd & 14260 Brick School Road is the address per the Winnebago County Forist Preserve web sight. From what I have found this corner is a bend in the road that goes from east, west (Brick School Rd.) to north, south (Judd Rd.) The entrance is just off the "corner"

Approximately 3 miles North of Route 20 West of Rockford

don't stop at "The Wetlands"

turn Right on Brick School Road
(sign says Pecatonica River Forest preserve)

Our campground is AFTER the Preserve, there is a sign for Camping immediately after that curve in the road

It's on the left, and it's immediately AFTER the sign for Judd Road, which HAPPENS to be on Brick School Road.

Upon coming in to the campground, make a right, and you'll see the camping circles, and most likely, US.

Thanks,Thats kind of what I thought. I had pulled up the addresses on Terra-Server, on an aerial photo overlay, and thought I could make out the camp.

The latest plan is for us to work until 2 p.m...Friday.. which means I need to get Luna ready TODAY so we can actually leave.

There always seems to be some last catastrophe, even though she's our second home., fully functional, and has everything we need.

God forbid I forget the dogbones and tie-outs again.

When you arrive at the campground, simply try to get a gravel spot, to the left of the entrance.

We don't have a full row like we did at Moraine. The camp host does know we're coming, and doesn't expect the park to be full, anyway.

Tom and I really enjoyed the weekend.

Enjoyed visiting and getting to know everyone.Came home with great deal of knowledge. Hope to see everyone in the spring. Dinner was great, many thanks.

You're welcome! We had a GREAT time, too; we stayed an extra day, pulling into the driveway about an hour ago... but we left in the rain this morning :-)

It's gorgous in the Forest Preserve when it's raining, too.
