I forgot one excuse. I will be doing my nails. Really. I bought some Silver nail polish this afternoon. I will be doing my nails again when I get to Ojai.

5 days and counting....
Boy, I go away for a couple of days and you girls have a little Forums party without me!
We just returned from a few days in Yosemite. We had to sqeak in our annual snow fix for the kids. My husband and I are severely snow-impaired since we grew up here in Santa Barbara - total snow dorks, have no clue what we are doing, completely out of our comfort zone. But the lure to colder temps is so strong each year, especially for our kids - they have so much fun. They could care less if their fingers are turning blue or their pants are soaked through to their nickers - just as long as they have a pile of the white stuff to jump in and hill or two to slide down. Kudos to all you silver sisters living in white winter wonderlands out there!
I'm glad to hear that the gals and their trusty side-kicks (you know who you are) are repairing their leaks, packing their polish, and prepping for the journey from their homelands. I am really nervous about towing too. But I am determined. Last year, Jack followed me and helped me back in, but this year I think ( I reserve the right to chicken out) I'll do it all by myself .
By the way, I have my deliciously tacky camp vamp attire all picked out, complete with a nod to Rosie - red toenail polish with white polkadots!
Attaching a picture of Drew (8) and Taylor (6) from yesterday's snow fun.

we'll have a lot to talk about!
Oh, Virginia, those are stunning photos! I can tell you and I will have a lot to talk about! We love Yosemite and go at lease a couple times a year. My sister got me hooked when she worked for the park - her little cabin near the base of Yosemite Falls was our very special little home away from home. Pretty amazing place. Let's compare notes next weekend!
Attaching a picture of our wedding in a Yosemite meadow 10 years ago.....
Cheers,

Great Yosemite photos.
And how nice that you got married there Meredith.
I also go several times a year and love it there
though I haven't gone in a little while now.
(Too busy with forum rallies )
I love the off season in spring and fall and do love the snow.
We are so lucky to be able to go play in the snow and then leave it behind
and go home.
Hmmm...a possible future rally spot???

WOW Virginia - I just love those photographs you took!!!
I am drooling from way way way over here!!!! The closest I have been to Yosemite National Park is Star Trek V - The Final Frontier
And Meredith what a breathless back drop - talk about being swept off your feet - in the literal sense what a double whammy
If anyone wants some snow - we still have lots - in fact I had to clear another 6 inches today from the last two days of light snow.... .. although there are hints of spring in the air
So how many more sleeps ladies till your Rally? anyone counting?
We will be sure to stoke that virtually campfire to chat up a storm on any news we hear from you all
Best wishes for great weather, fun and friendship......

Well it looks like I may arrive a day or two early. I made it from Boise to Sacramento today. Further than I had expected. I head up to Chico to see about a future job and then back south tomorrow. I should pull in to Ojai sometime Wednesday.
I am game for Yosemite! I will make the left turn instead of heading south!

- #15 knitting needles for the knitting lesson
Did I forget anything?? Can't WAIT! See you on Thursday, Michelle!
- Meredith -
---------------------------------------------------------------
#E-2 - drsbeddor - Sandra, arrriving Thursday, (dessert)

Thanks for that great reminder list Meredith! Camp vamp huh?
Daughter Malia and I hope to roll in shortly after noon on Fri.
Practiced by towing into the local hills the other day. Didn't hit any cyclists so I think I'm ready to this again! (Didn't have a chance to practice backing up though...)
Virginia, your photos are phenomenal!
Ciao,
J

Bonus points for not running down any cyclists Janet!
See how easy it is?
I should be rolling in on Friday about noon-ish also.
Knitting and cocktails...great pairing.
Especially when properly attired...
See y'all soon,
L.

Well done on the updated list, Meredith!
I can bring some breakfast items if anyone has special requests.
I'm "not so much" in the kitchen otherwise.
I LOVE the Yosemite photos. Mer, you better bring your wedding album too!
Cat, how's your trailer coming along? I've had my fingers crossed for you.
It's got to be ready! Otherwise, you and I are going to be having a slumber party in some sista's trailer!
My truck: in the shop!
I give my him new rims and this is the thanks I get?!
Are they hot or what?!!
So funny, yesterday I zipped to Home Depot for plywood (cabinet faces) wearing my white and silver, "Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now" shirt, and well, looks like my truck decided it wanted to stop me (or slow me down).
I will say, I have never had so many folks offer me a hand, look under the hood, offer a ride, how could I be upset?! I love country livin'!
(Also, better in a parking lot than on the road).
Get the truck towed my my auto guys (tow truck driver tawkin' 3/4 ton Suburbans, etc. with me, must be the rims), we drop the truck off.
This morning, the auto guys say it started right up. Sheeeeesshhhhh! I say it's the distributor or somethin somethin', (that's what the guy at home depot said). Anyway, say a hail Mary or the equivalent for me that I make it with no worries. Thanks!
Can't wait to meet the new sisters & see my silver chicas again!

Looks like you have a fun event planned.
So, when will one of these be held on the East coast?

In the shop? - ACK! I have all my fingers AND pretty polkadotted toesies crossed for you, Kristiana! I'm going to PM you my cell phone in case you hit a bump in the road and need some encouragement from the campground. Just in case - you know you're always welcome to stay on my "couch" .
And by the way, wow, nice rims lady!

yukionna, if you plan it, they will come! Start a thread and see what happens. Someday, maybe we'll get a nationwide women's rally going and meet in the middle somewhere. Until then, get your Rosie on!

On TV
Hey girls,
Thanks for all the photo appreciation. It does a girl good!
Any of you in the SoCal area still up late tonight, I might be on the Channel 4 NBC news-broadcast at 11PM tonight.
My daughter and I spoke passionately our Riverside School District Board meeting against proposed cuts in the elementary school music program.
They taped our speeches, got our names and Beverly White (reporter) said "See you at 11". Yikes.

Sounds like everyone's ready to get on the road...but me...
Well, we talked to Jackson Center, and they agreed to replace the carpet pad only and not the carpet...I can't believe how cheap they are. For those who are in the know, we can't risk to have mold building up from a wet carpet, even they "tried" to dry it out. So we are going to put down vinyl on top of the plywood subfloor, then add new carpet tiles on the area around the bed.
With that said, it's not going to be done before the rally...
But nothing is going to stop me from rallying with my favorite sistas, so I am picking up the AS with the bare subfloor without the side closet, and head to the rally for the weekend. I can handle that, I just have to throw down a couple of runners around the bed, so TT the cat will not freak out with the bare floor.
We'll take care of the floor covering after I get back from all the fun. Although the process has been a pain, but now we get to choose a new floor covering (even we have to pay for it) to give it a fresh look. I can't wait!
So I'll see ya all Friday! Kristiana, be safe on the road, and the truck looks fantastic! Bammie, I might get there just about the same time as you. Can't wait!

Hi, =^^= Cat. Sorry to hear about the water leak / damage. I think vinyl and throw rugs is the way to go. The only carpet we have is around and under the bed; If and when it gets dirty or damaged or if I just feel like it I'm going to rip the carpet out. Being that the damage, in your trailer, was caused by a warranty item, they should replace or repair everything that got damaged.
I had planned to drop Lee off at the women's rally, but she has been too sick to go; Maybe next time. For those who get to go, have a great time.
