It's too bad we are so far away. We love crayfish. Even Gracie our yellow lab loves them!

To me a get together is several or maybe a half dozen Airstreams meeting at a campground for some informal socialization.

This thing is way beyond that, and should be called a rally.

Sure don't get nervous just because you may have made forum history and you will now be infamous forever.

I like the graphic. How about making the fonts different sizes. Have 2007 Can Opener as a main and 1st annual in a smaller text. You may not even have to add that it's a get-together or rally(I think we're a rally)

Gracie is adorable but ewweee, is that the way people eat them too?

hey devoman...

looks like we ARE the 'can openers'

the graphic looks great but less is better...

drop 'get together' not needed

and really i'd drop '1st annual'...

and opt for '2007 florida can opener'

and leave it as that....in just the style you've done....

when the 2nd one happens, THEN it becomes the 2nd annual yadda yadda...

but stuff from the first time will be special... and we will know it!

then some funky graphics are in order for your logo AND for tee shirts....

IF the name is 'can opener' i'd try to include a vintage retro can opener with an 'air' like trailer graphic...

note we do NOT want to use the word a/s or an exact a/s logo...

i don't have time to do graphics now... and someone with talent will emerge...

--perhaps an image of a florida shaped can opener with a trailer in the gulf area?

--or a trailer with a can opener/cork screw on each end like a swiss army knife opened?

--or a can shaped like a trailer being 'opened' ?

here are some pics to feed on....

cheers

Guess it just depends on how much beer you have before you start eating but we normally like ours cooked as in the first pic. "If ya eat em raw ya don't git to suck tha heads".

I thought the same thing when I was fooling around with the design.Get-together and first annual just seemed like it was to much.Simple is always better.
I am going to make one with just the words:::2007 Florida Can Openers Rally and then tell me what you all think.

How 'bout one of these

Here's a fairly vintage can opener I found in my kitchen drawer. Note the corkscrew. It needs a little sanding and some POR 15.

Devoman-

I like the design, but you might consider dropping or changing "Sandestin" as there is no such town or mailing address. Sandestin is the name of the large commercial resort that is just west of Tops'l. Tops'l is in Santa Rosa Beach which is quite a mouthful. I guess you could use Destin as the location, but Destin is actually in Okaloosa County and Tops'l is in Walton County.

2007 gives it a great time stamp. The beauty of "Can Opener" is in it's punch. It is simple, witty and truly says it all with fluidity. Add extra words to that and it sounds like all the other rv rallies. Someone came up with a perfect name, I think it can stand alone. Would Coke or Nike add to their slogans?

I don't know, Greg, about gittin to suck their heads, how about nibbling little feet?

"2007 Can Opener" is perfect, no additions necessary. Don't think rally needs to be attached either. Initial charm of event was being a get-together. Rally suggest organization and structure, this event took off by just a suggestion by Devoman for a get-together, no organization or structure, just show up and see what happens. It's just possible that a couple of years from now, when an AS'r sees a tshirt or something with 20## Can Opener on it, they'll know exactly what it represents. Will kind of grow its own mystique by keeping it simple.
Whatever its called, should be loads of fun and fellowship.

I like the "Can Opener Rally", but how about putting the date underneath in smaller font, "Jan. 5-7, 2007". Omit "First Annual" if you'd like. I think it kind of gets a little wordy. But put it in the same smaller font if you include it. Other than that I like the font. A can opener/cork screw at one end and a stylized Airstream like trailer at the other would be cool for the banner.

For a tee shirt, you would want to bring it in tighter than on the ends maybe. Something to work with anyway. Maybe shadow in the trailer/can opener in the background.
