LP gas line question

Is copper still the only acceptable material for use in interior LP supply lines. The residential people are switching from black pipe and copper to flexible stainless steel lines for everything. I realize we are talking about two different things ( residential vs RV ) but it seems what goes into houses eventually carries over to the RV world i.e. PEX for plumbing. What do they do for slide outs that have gas lines?

Current MoHo's with multiple slides are using a heavy wall low pressure flexible gas tubing, sort of like a thin version of radiator hose. I don't know what the composition is, but I have not seen any metallic gas flex used in the RV industry yet. Code says iron or copper up to an appliance, then a rubber type flex hose at the regulator and tanks. And don't forget those DOUBLE flares at the ends.

flexible propane hose

I once ran a flexible propane hose to a mobile propane heater for my dad's garage. The heater was a standard propane small room non venting kind.
Seems like I purchased the hose from a home center, or auto supply store.

It was rubber hose rated for Liquid propane use. about 1" in diameter.
My father still uses it to heat his garage.
Google rubber propane hose or rubber LP hose and you will find multiple manufactures, or contact your LP salesoffice and they should know where to get it.

Rubber Hose for LP INSIDE

Just a question... I have seen the rubber hose used for the installation of a catalytic heater so that it could be hinged on a wall. Is this really acceptable?

Not really sure what the RVIA code is for that, but I have seen black iron pipe that terminates into rubber and then to a gas appliance. You might give RVIA a call and ask them what the current code is.

Wondered about the rubber hose, had a dealer suggest using one to hook up the catalytic heater I am installing in my GT. He said they are being used for slideouts and they can make whatever I need. I'm hesitant because if its a rubber hose it will be in an area I can't see.
