Smile 'Reinstate Leo' ribbons

Free REINSTATE LEO Ribbons.

Whatsa matter, Bunky?

Now that rally season is here, you say you want to protest arbitrary political expulsions by the WBCCI. . .

But you don’t want to put black tape over your red numbers ‘cause they’re already peeling off by themselves?

And your unit Blue Book wonk has informed you that putting black tape on the face of your badge is a violation of WBCCI Policy subject to legal action?

Your problem is solved! You need the REINSTATE LEO ribbon, executed in elegant simplicity in black satin with gold lettering, to harmonize with all Region and International rally ribbons.

And here’s a word you can’t ignore: FREE. Just send me a Private Message with your name and address and number of ribbons desired, and I’ll mail you a handful, no charge. Wear one with pride and pass them out to like-minded friends. WBCCI members and expellees only, please.

I reserve the right to limit number to ten ribbons per customer, but am willing to send larger quantities to well-known members of the vociferous opposition (and you know who you are).

I would give preference to members planning to attend the 2010 International Rally, but I don’t know of any!

Limited Warranty and Disclaimer

Satisfaction guaranteed or your money cheerfully refunded. Warranty limited to refund of purchase price. Consequential damages are specifically disclaimed. Wear at your own risk. Adverse side effects may include disharmony and ill feelings among club members, grievances, expulsion, iced-tea dousing, fist fights, riot, insurrection, declared or undeclared war, and hard-to-remove stains on white tuxedoes.

Thank you for your attention. This concludes this public service announcement. We now return this forum to its regularly scheduled programming.

Undoubtedly the badge police will attack when you wear your ribbon attached to the BACK of your badge as all rally ribbons are. Here is what the blue book says. Italics are added.

Identification (I.D.) Badges - The official badge and titles authorized are shown in Appendix #2. No other deviation will be recognized unless authorized by the Board of Trustees. Further, no items such as stickers, emblems, insignias or symbols, either permanent or temporary, should be affixed to the FACE of any WBCCI badge with the exception of the approved circular Life Member vinyl decal. Further detailed explanation of types of identification badges and authorized use is as follows: (1/19/07)

On the FACE. Don't these ribbons attach to the BACK of the badge? No problems! I want to see the first grievance/expulsion from the club for THAT ONE! If that doesn't fly, you can ALWAYS attach it to the lanyard if you have one. Or heck - attach it to your beret.

There is actually a rule about "unauthorized " things on the Beret. Noticed it while hunting out the badge one.

Some how they missed anything about doing things with the trailer numbers.
Expect the IBT will come up with a bylaw for that given time

Post your picture wearing your ribbon! Thank you Nuvi!!

Loved your post about the EC7 headache #2010

For all those familiar with the badge rules, does it say where you have to pin your badge?

After seeing how the IBT dresses and what the majority of their travel boxes look like, I think membership should be allowed to decorate themselves anyway they see fit and the same with their Airstreams. The control and intrusion issues are way over the top with these "rulers." But how deliciously disobedient to have scores of members sighted for write-ups and grievances for supporting Leo!! How about some "Sue Me" buttons, or should that be, "No, Sue You!" buttons.

Yes, the little adhesive strip (visible in the picture) is on the front of the ribbon to help hold the ribbon on the back of the badge, just like all the rally ribbons. And yeah, Rick is probably right that they will try to tell you that The Regulations prohibit Unauthorized Ribbons, but they don't, at least not yet.

If you wear this ribbon at International (and I hope many will) I would take it off before registering because I'm sure the International Badge Duct Taper will have instructions to remove Any Unauthorized Ribbons. So put it back on after your International rally ribbon has been duct taped in place.

Thanks to everybody for getting this project off to a fine start! The original post has only been up for 24 hours and I have mailed 100 ribbons so far. Keep those PM's a' comin', folks. Plenty more where those came from!

In Madison, I did not let the "Duct Tape" folks anywhere near my badge. IMO, the registration process was a comical farce that seemed to serve no purpose other than giving a couple dozen ladies something to do.

I am assuming your address in the directory is OK. (Gosh, do you suppose sending protest ribbons to an address in the directory is Contrary to WBCCI Policy and Subject to Legal Action? Guess I better consult my attorney. )

Will put 20 in the mail to you tomorrow morning. Maybe some other folks at the rally would like one.

Yes the address in the directory is good and I am here by granting you full license and unfettered use of that address for any and all correspondence and shipping of goods. A fully notarized copy of this license will follow via snail mail.
