This is just too cool. New blood and new ideas will honor Wally and his original vision.

So what is the process, do I first join the WBCCI and then the FCU?

Please fill me in, so I can join and begin supporting the FCU.

Good news

Ken, Richard, Brad and others,

Congradulations on your hard work and I am sure that you will succeed. There are twelve units in California, we belong to two, each one has its own style and personality. It is important that there is enough variety so that everyone who is interested in joining WBCCI has a unit that they are comfortable with. Your BSA analogy is correct, since each troop has its own personality and there are several in each city to meet the individual needs of each scout. The troop my son went through is completely different from other troops in the city.

Just a quick note!

First, “Way to GO!!” glad you guys are on your way. I hope all
works out in the end, it looks like it will.

On another note. I know some of you joined the WDCU because
it looked like at one time the 4CU was not going to make it. I know
a “MAL” member can move their membership to a “Unit” which will give them voting rights through that Unit at anytime during the year. I am not sure if you are a current member of a Unit that you can move your membership after the WBCCI dues have been paid and vote through that new unit. Before moving your membership from the WDCU to the 4CU, be sure you will be allow to vote through the new 4CU. I would double check it with the appropriate person on the IBT. Make sure you get that you can in writing. I’d hate to see you guys not get to cast your votes at IBT this summer.

FCU - it's not just what's for dinner...

dear richard,

i'd like to apply for the highest paid jod in the unit "unofficial but official overly officious rally greeter".

please don't say no, as you know my head keeps sweeling w/ each rally i "work", creating my own personal weather system. i would be willing to even work a special deal for y'all. say, earn less, but my camp free, eat free, and of course the all important drink free, is etched in bauxite.

please note i belong to the WCBCCI #1808 and the VAC, not to mention every other vintage club in the west. refrences upon request. as your personally aware i'm good w/ small chrildren and animals, both large and small.

if it comes down to it, we could go by who's best dressed using 4x starch, best trailer over decoration and sweetest personality.

hope you have received that 4CU post card i sent you and jan, which includes a sappy g rated note, a super hero stamp and of course is suitable for framing (both sides).

my attention span is very short unless your blond (although i make exceptions) please keep the business meetings under 90 seconds.

can i bring my herding dogs to deadhorse?

xoxoxoxo

Paul,

You make a good point, hopefully there is some exception for a newly formed unit.

That deserves at least a couple of ATT'A Boy's (and Girl's)!

From following your challenges on these forums we understand what a great accomplishment this was. Perserverance does pay off. I do believe that the momentum has shifted and the WBCCI will grow (and change for the better) because of it.

When the world says, "Give up,"
Hope whispers, "Try it one more time."

Congratulations and best wishes to the 4CU.

Make sure you can vote!

Since you are a "provisional" charter, will they allow you to vote at IBT? Any way to get that done before hand?? I'd hate so see you guys or people that join your unit not get to place their vote one way or the other.

I will be signing up, I 'm sure info's on the website??

Share the Love!!!

Don't know what the process might be, but...I think we ALL should also send some love to the IBT (via email of course) to say THANK YOU.

It is great when leaders can be responsive and allow themselves to be persuaded by well developed, documented, and articulated (Ken am I sucking up enough?) ideas and innovations for fostering the current and long term health of the WBCCI.

If we recognize their "achievement" too, perhaps it will be easier for the next group?

A provisional charter is issued by the Regional President and not the IBT. Chester Haughawaut is the President of Region 11 and he provisionally approved the charter. The IBT will vote to give us a full charter at the International this year.

Thumbs up Fcu.....yessssss!!!!

I was (am) a charter member having thrown my hat into the ring last summer.

Glad to hear that it will become a reality. I'll be waiting to rally during my summer cross-country trips.

LONG LIVE THE FCU!!!!

Paul - thanks for the heads up - I'll have to check into the voting stuff.

Jerry - I think it would be great to send out thank-yous to the WBCCI folks - yes I am encouraged by this too.

Lew - Of course you are a charter member......I'm not sure how it works, but I would think we are still in the phase of chartering this unit so wouldn't all those who sign up before June be charter members?
