Choose Your Own WBCCI Numbers?
Hi all,
Just a general newbie question here - pardon if it has been asked before.
When becoming a member of WBCCI, are you able to request a particular number you happen to have a fondness for?
Thanks everyone!

Smitten,
I have seen threads and articles about people getting old numbers back or getting numbers that used to belong to a family member or relative. So it may be possible, as long as the number is not already in use. Try contacting the WBCCI. I am sure somebody else here will chime in with a dfinitive answer.

Jodi Morris at HQ can tell you if a number is available or not. She can also put a hold on a number while you submit your paper work. Her email is: jmorris@wbcci.org

The original number on my coach was 21212. Looked it up the membership book. It was taken, but, 12121 was not. Talked to Jodi. Now it is.

When we joined WBCCI siz years or so ago, they let us pick our number, but we were restricted to 4 digits.
I am glad to see they have relaxed that rule...

I stopped at the WBCCI headquarters a few years after my uncle had passed away and found that his number was available. Just to carry it on within the family I asked for it.

That must have been a short lived policy and frankly one I have never heard of and I have followed their issuing of numbers for many years.I picked my own number in 1995 and it is a 5-digit.

Our number on the Airstream was there and faded. Spoke to Rob Baker and he looked up all the info for us. We were able to change just one number and keep the others.
Made it easier. There is ALWAYS someone on the Forums that has the answer.

WBCCI Number
I have just purchased 69 Safari Land Yacht 23' and the faded number is 3127, and was wondering who the original owners were.
I have an unusual VIN O23T9J130 can anyone help with the first letter.
It should relate to Overlander as a late '68 but it is a 23' Twin '9" out of Jacksonville.
Any conspiracy theories on this?
Thanks
Great to finally be a member.

Welcome to Airforums
Jacksonville, Ohio built; 23'; Twin bed layout.
1969 Safari 23' - Vintage Airstream
"O" stands for Land Yacht options.

"0" (zero) or "O" (Oh) = Land Yacht package
"I" (eye) or "1" (one) = International package
The International package had a few extra bells & whistles.
There is a very old document still floating around the internet that states the "0" or "O" stands for Overlander which was a 26' Airstream (available in both the Land Yacht & International versions). It is wrong and keeps being perpetuated as it is impossible to purge it from the internet.
I concur with MB's assessment of what your trailer is based on the posted VIN #:
0 or O = Land Yacht package
23 = 23' long (Safari)
T = twin beds
9 = built in 1969
J = built in Jackson Center, Ohio
130 = sequential number

dachaidh,
Welcome to the forums!
And, lest another error start to endlessly propagate on the internet. . . Ohio Airstreams have always been produced in Jackson Center, Ohio, not Jacksonville.
