Best color/lowest cosmetic maintenance car we ever owned was a beige/tan Rx7. You could go out in the desert and pick up a handful of dirt and throw it on the hood; and from a few feet back, you couldn't see it at all. It was light colored enough to be cool, polished up nice, and didn't show the dust that accumulates here in Arizona. Plus, I could find it in the mall parking lot. (Try finding a white Toyota while Christmas shopping!)

The only problem was if it broke down in an off-road location, they might never see it from a helicopter or small plane.

If we had an SOB that color, I'd paint a dayglo orange target or "X" on the roof.

Am I CRAZY For Even Considering.....

Exactly on the beige rX7. Overall the easiest car color to keep and maintain is a good white. Interestingly years ago another car purchased was a '96 BMW. White. I soon found that they did. It clear coat their white, at least that year, and it would easily stain from bird droppings etc. The car was great but he paint job was cheap. Mercedes, VW and most others now have a good white. It sounds like you want the black Interstate. It is certainly your choice. At least we have weighed in as you asked.

As far as seeing it in Alaska from a plane, it'll burn whatever color it is! Put the X on the roof.

I like the look of my silver pickup towing the silver trailer.
I also like the look of towing my black Harley behind my black car on a black trailer.
The trailer used to be green. I painted it black to match the car and the bike...
Silver looks clean at a distance when it is actually dirty.
Black does not...

It may be bad-A
It is way too much work to keep up unless you can work on it daily
Way too HOT !
I am sure you will travel outside of your local area and there are many areas that will be HOT!
Besides, if you are hesitating and posting here, you already know your answer.

I had a Silver one...did not show the dirt at all. I wasn't using it as much as I wanted (wife prefers the Cessna) and I sold it last Spring. I am regretting it and may buy another but I am going to stick with Silver. It really does make a difference in the summer.

See previous post...I am way crazier than you if I buy another. First one I "surprised" the wife....Hey, I bought an Interstate today! Just wait till I do it again!
I did calculate the nightly cost of my first one. (What I paid minus what I sold for)...only $1,285 a night!!

I'm fairly sure you would get hassled everywhere you go, because it will look just like a NSA monitoring van. This is what campers did to a van they thought was NSA, and it was even blue.

So, as you can see, I have a BLACK car. It IS badass. It is also VERY easy to wash because it is small. I also have a truck. It is big. It takes a LONG time to wash. It is SILVER. After being logical, get what you want!

I'd be scared to wash your car - but it is definitely badass :-)

It's a seniors only campground in Peaceful Valley.

My black car and silver truck aren't quite as bad, but the principal is the same- it takes a lot less time to wash the car-

Ok, you caught me. The blue van was actually attacked for trying to bring a 17 year old trailer into a campground with a 15 year old restriction. I am so ashamed......
