Who knows what's going in in their little heads! Maybe just, "Oh no! Not dress-up...again!" She's sweet to indulge us.

What happened to the bathroom!?
Tia loves to camp and is a great camp dog. She doesn't yap or bark and LOVES to play ball with anyone that will throw.
She hasn't been in the unit much as we remodel and was very surprised that the bath opened into the back yard...perplexed is more like it.

When are we going camping?
Here's a picture of Jasper Joy aka Jazz. Now that I've got the Silver Schooner home he can't wait to go camping!

Our Grandogger
Seems we're going to be waiting a long time for our first grandchild - but in the meantime - this little gal sure gives us a lot of joy - she spends as much time at our place as she does at the home of our oldest son - my constant companion during the day. Her name is Attica (yes - after the prison .... go figure).

The Prodigal Son Returns
We had a nice event happen today. We had a desert tortoise, Homer, who we’ve had for at least 10 years...we adopted him from a friend who had large dogs and was afraid the dogs would eventually hurt the tortoise...at that time he was about 5 or 6 inches in shell length so they could pick him up in their mouths...(he’s now 12” long).
About a year ago he just disappeared from our yard, which is walled in. We have another area behind our back wall that is fenced in, so we though he may have gotten back there and dug in somewhere...or worse yet, out the back gate that goes into the alley... but we never could find him.
He usually would come to us if we called his name, so finally we thought he had probably been taken out of our yard by someone, and just hoped they were taking care of him.
Well today, Greg heard something in the area behind the back wall... guess who was making the noise?
Yup. Homer. Almost a full year he’s been missing... He was pretty hungry... We fed him a big salad and he just spread all his legs out and laid down on his shell bottom and ate the whole thing...I think he was pretty pleased to be back with us after so long...poor little guy. Pics below.
He looks a little skinny in the neck (about the only place you can tell whether he is “plumped” or not), but other than that he appears to be OK. The top of his shell is scuffed, too, so he may have been stuck under something for a while until he could get himself out. These guys are used to surviving in the desert, so I guess our "back forty" was not so bad in the larger scenario...just glad to have him back home safely.

What a great story. I am so glad that Homer is safe and sound. You need to put your red numbers on that guy, just in case he wonders off again...

Not a bad idea. I keep going out to check to make sure he's still in the yard! Can't believe he's back home! He has full roam of our back yard with lots of places to hunker down. It's heavily vegetated with lots of lantana, sage and century plants, so he can be hard to find sometimes...and it's not unusual for him to go under the radar for several days at a time....but eventually he wants some attention and comes to the back door with a demanding look on his face. He's a character.

We love our Dogue ......and the cat
yes she is a brave one, and has been known to get a sophie bath. but they are buddies and inseparable. Sophie is an embarrassment to big dogs everywhere. but we love her my wife was just looking at the Rescue dogues website, and wondering if we should get another.

There is a feral calico, who lives on our property and gave birth to five kittens last month and then abandoned them. We lost two to anemia from flea infestation, but the other three made it. The one in the picture, Bimmer, had just gotten a bath with all-natural flea shampoo (clove oil, peppermint oil, etc). She decided Sebastian would make a comfortable pillow for her nap.

Pet contest in GIANT proportions
Hello Fellow Airstreamers.
Finally I found how to attach a picture!
Here is "Airstream" our 8 month old Deerhound - He stands 5'8" on his hind legs..... at the moment! Apparently there is more growing to do!!
We haven't dared to share our Airstream with him yet - there is no room left when he's in it!
He's a nice airstream colour but doesn't polish up quite the same!
Wherever we go with him people can't resist to stop and cuddle him, the "trailer" airstream turns heads here in the UK but the "dog" airstream is an even bigger hit.
Happy trailering to all you folks out there - our dream would be to travel across America in an Airstream but think we may have to leave the DOG at home!
