Whose trailer moves the Least?

Hello all,
I see everyone making their plans to travel here or motor there with their Airstreams. I see the folks with their maps that show all the states they've been to. I see the threads for rallys and meets. All of these things imply a very mobile community which of course is cool!
But my Airstream never moves. It's a base camp. It was a way to avoid all the expense and taxes and work involved in a weekend getaway.
I love my AS as much as the next person. But I don't really use it as it was intended.
I'm looking to find the trailer which has gone the longest without moving.
Like in the tractor shows that have a prize for the Slooooowest tractor.
It doesn't count now if you bought your AS, gutted it, and have spent 2 years rebuilding it. It's got to be "up and running" and never move.

Not enough poll options!

There aren't any poll options for those of us who move their trailer more frequently than once a year. Guess I can't vote then.

My trailer moves every other w/e! There's a reason why there are wheels on my trailer.

Hey Jerry -- Mine moved this morning. I de-winterized today and am headed back out to check a few more things. We're headed out for the year's first jaunt this weekend -- been doing way too much airline traveling in the last month. I do envy their flush rivets though ....

Airstream not moving? That must be a condition caused by living exactly on the 45th parallel (okay, I know your Airstream isn't in Golden Valley...). Have you ever tried balancing an egg on its end?

I know that I voted three years, but I dont know if I can count 25 feet once in that time span as a real move. If this is a violation let me know and I will have the my vote canged to 1 year. I hope to move the other one this summer a couple of times.

Since we got our new AS 3 weeks ago, I went to an rv resort for a couple of days and then a WBCCI rally for four days and have another rally tomorrow (Tin Can Tourists.) We plan to go out West for three or four weeks vacation and hope to do short trips and rallies in between.

But I sure am interested in your finding the trailers that have been used and have been sitting the longest. I would also like to know how well full-time living and maintenance goes in the AS since the booklet from AS states that the trailer is not meant to be used full-time. (Which really surprised me to read since I there must be people who must do just that.) Or does AS mean you can full-time part-time, and part-time full-time, but they aren't guaranteeing full-time full-time, any time?

There is a perfectly good 1977 Sovereign at the storage lot where we keep our Overlander that hasn't moved since the lot was opened in 1998.

Hey Bob,

I can see you staring out the window of that airplane and looking at the flush rivets and wondering why your A/S doesn't look that way! I just did the same thing on a flight back from Denver.

I think that they call that an obsession .

Patiently waiting for a tow

My Airstream Bambi II was purchased in March 1982. I was anxious to get it ready to use. I installed a new fridge, new upholstery, checked the operating systems, repaired plumbing, bought new tires, replaced flooring, installed tv antenna, repaired drain lines, and (gasp) I have never spent a night in it.

20 years on one site!!!

My 31 ft Internatioanl trailer pulled into this site in 1986 and has not moved since then. I purchased it on site in 2003. I have just got the urge to move it. My plan is to move it 120 south. HMMMM

Anyone else moved a trailer that has been sitting for twenty years. Any advise?

Thirty two years and counting...

About a mile from us is a Mobile Home Park and nearest the street (on the El Camino Real..) is a 27' Airstream that was in place when we bought our first home in 1974, and hasn't moved since. Still someone living in it, though they added a storage shed alongside...

This may cause me to have to knock on door and ask how it's been to live that long in an Airstream...

We can't vote 'cause ours heads out more often than once a year...
