Malcolm:
I’ve installed a retractable screen system, bought at Home Depot, at my Toronto home.
Such a thing won’t work in the Argosy because of our curvature.
I thought I could modify the present door to slide sideways but I’d forgot the wiring harness to the control panel that will be at the front entry. That blocked the way.
So what I’m doing now will make it the equivalent of a contemporary Airstream, I think.
I’ve stripped out the opening mechanism from the window. It will be fixed in the closed position but provide a nice opening in the door. And I’ll still have the traditional screen door
I nevertheless emailed one of the companies your referred me to. They are in Ottawa and may have heard of something that will work on an airplane-like wall - but it’s doubtful, isn’t it?

I haven't seen window screens on any of the Boeing planes I've flown recently Maybe de Havilland, they could use 'em why they fly some of those Beavers -Bernie

I would suppose that the roller screens could be made to work OK if they opened vertically rather than horizontally. That, of course would not be too convenient for a door though. One other approach might be to use screen with a zipper like on the entrance to a tent. You could pull it to the side like a curtain when not in use. It might also be possible to mount it on some type of track at the top.
Sounds like the fixed window and standard screen door is the way to go this time around though.

Don Gunstone, a local electrician, helped me wire in the Charger/Converter, the fused Shut-Off and the 12v fused Distribution Panel yesterday.
Rhodey, Don’s dog: “ I though you guys said this was just going to take a few hours”.

Temporary battery, Bussman 50 amp circuit breaker, Blue Sea blade fuse block, ParaMode 4455 converter/charger with TempAssure - all now inter-connected.
False front on Davidson Overlander’s gaucho frame hides the compartment.

it looks so nice!
Sergei - even from these shots, the beauty is showing through. Are you sure you'll even want to use it when it's done?

satisfaction
Marc,
I will want to use this when it’s done.
As a matter of fact, I’ll have to be on the road with my rig for at least two years just to make up for all the time I’ve poured into this!
There is also something very satisfying from seeing a plan unfold and from knowing how every bolt, rivet, pipe or whatever got there.

Do I need a drain on the fresh water holding tank??
The current drain is in the way of my new furniture install.
Since I’ve installed a shut-off between the pump and the tank can’t I just cap off the existing drain?
It seems I should be able to use the pump to drain the tank. (The drain and the outlet are at the same level). And if the pump needs to be disconnected while I have water in the tank, isn’t there the new shut-off ?
Before I cap it, have I overlooked anything??

I would have a drain. It is impossible to get everything out of the tank and water heater with the pump.

I'd hate to see anything interfere with the new furniture , but I think a drain is a good idea. When we use our trailer for the last time before winterizing I open the drain before we head for home. That gives lots of time for as much water as possible to run out. I also remove the pump and store it indoors. In the winter you'll probably be heading south to some place where the temperatures will be well above freezing while our trailer sits in the snow, but I still think a drain is a good idea if you can fit it in.

Air Conditioned Workspace!
Things are moving so fast now that I can hardly keep up.
Dave, a local refrigeration man, evacuated the lines and fired up the LG split air plant for me today.
The Art Cool unit works beautifully. So quiet, inside and out, that its hard to believe.
