As to which connector, the light above the door has a "BA15S" base, just a regular 1156 automotive bulb. It's a great place to put an LED bulb. My first attempt was one of the pads from LED4RV and that was unsatisfactory. It was complicated to keep it from sliding down past the lip of the door and wasting half of its light output.
I then cleaned up the interior of the cavity and sprayed it with bright-white spray paint and installed a bright, longer-than-standard LED lamp in the socket. Low battery consumption, bright light in front of the door, won't have to fiddle with that lens for many years most likely.
