See, there was a secret plan all along. I wanted a much improved sewing center so I thought I would buy an Airstream. A very much in decline AS and cause a whole series of crazy events in order to get a new sewing space. The evil plan is working.....

We have been working on our place for over 20 years and are still in the process of improvement. There seems to always be another idea or plan in the works for how we could make it better. Thanks for the compliment and we continue on the Rookery almost daily. Finished pictures sure to come in the future. At least I hope so anyway. And then we will figure out another project...oh, wait....we have the Albatross to keep us out of trouble.

Dang, the plan is working and she thinks it's her idea...
"Yes Dear, I can build that but I need a new wielder, tools and a shop to do it......"
"What, you want the up stairs for a sewing room, let me insulate it for you so I will not hear you when you call."
Evil plan, we will just see about that..... Now what did she say she wanted me to do for the plantings around here? I'll have to go ask the Boss......
The place looks great.

So he really had this planned all along? You would have thought I could have seen this one coming.....he is in such TROUBLE......wait until he get home from work
I suppose everyone else on the forums was in on this the whole time and he was saying "Ask the people on AS Forums about this....ask about that...." which had me completely fooled. He is such a slickster.....and here I thought he was completely innocent. Those of you that helped him with this huge coverup are also in big time trouble. And don't think I don't know who you are.....

Sheetrock is not your friend
We have been hauling sheetrock up to the second floor loft of the Rookery and I have decided that sheetrock gets heavier and heavier as time goes on. Somehow ten years ago when we built the shop, it wasn't that heavy but now....uffda. I am encouraging the better half to hire the sheetrock work out but I think that hurts his pride. So on we go hauling sheetrock...

Update...breaking bulletin!
Believe it or not, progress continues on the Albatross' headquarters. DH asked what I wanted for my upcoming birthday and I said "I would like my sewing/crafting/beading/jewelry/stained glass/scrap booking area above the Albatross spot to be finished." He said "Are you crazy? Do you know how much work that is going to take?" and "Do you know that is going to cost *(*&%$?" I know. But I want what I want and so he asked and I told him. Never ask what you don't want the answer to.
Now he has worked on it for three weeks and I must say he has done a great job. The sheet rock has been finished, the paint is mostly done, and the floor goes in before long. I suspect I will be moving some of my hobbies into the Rookery loft by the end of Christmas break. I am pretty
On another note, I am taking a Rosie the Riveter course and I have learned a little bit about welding, auto body, auto tech, and HVAC. Great fun and what an opportunity to learn from people who have spent a lifetime in the trades. I did plasma cutting tonight and I loved it. No worries that anyone will be replaced by me and new respect for anyone who does it well. I have another month of classes but am really enjoying it. DH has already said we will not be outfitting the shop with auto body, HVAC, and auto tech tools. We'll see.
Now to practice some of the new skills on the AS....life is good. Only thing that would be better is to be able to camp on the weekends. All in good time.

Finally an apron
Just had an apron poured on the front of the Rookery. Looks pretty nice and now I am hauling dirt in to try to get the sides evened up with the rest of the area. I had wild ideas that I could plant around the sides but DH has vetoed that idea. He is going to put in a walkway though and a little landing off to the west which will be great. We are constantly coming in and out of there during the warmer months as we work on trailers. Still working on getting a hot tub on the idea list and next to the Rookery.
