Disconnect Electric Hitch Jack??

First dumb question - how do I kill the power to the electric hitch jack? Kill switch inside trailer is on store, but light on the jack head and hitch jack still work......

Paul,

Your Bambi should have an in-line fuse holder on the cable running to your power hitch. If you remove the fuse at your campsite, this should discourage anyone from "monkeying" with your hitch.

Glad to help. I notice that you're right up the road from me. May I ask where you bought your Bambi. We have a dealer (Stafford RV) here in Fredericksburg that sells and services A/S, but I went to Colonial in NJ to get my 22' CCD. They had the largest inventory in the region, so we were able to walk through alot of different models before deciding on an instock model.

I went to Colonial, too. Shopped Stafford Dodge by you and Parkview in Delaware, but Colonial gave me the best price. Also, the people I talked to at Stafford and Parkview where not very knowledgeable. David at Colonial worked for my business. I had already decided on the unit and options, so I was able to order it over the phone. It was a long drive up and back, though. Saved about a grand, so it was worth it.

Pretty in Fredericksburg. I was raised in Richmond, which is where my heart still is, but the Rappahannock river ain't so bad either...

Just an FYI: One of our forum members had his jack emulate a pogo stick while towing, with obvious results. It is better to disable for towing, as well as while parked.

I put an inline switch to the jack in my battery box. When I'm towing or set up at the campground, I just flick the switch off. A little quicker / easier than having to pop the fuse out every time.

In fact, the last check I make when leaving the trailer at the storage yard is to hit the jack switch to make sure that I had turned off the batteries,

I agree I like the "arrangement" and do the same. I have a little trouble remembering what I did and what I did not do.
