I'll need to get one of those screen covers, the next time the Mrs is looking for an item to bring her total up to "free shipping". We had problems with daubers getting in the louvers at the hot water heater and the fridge access doors. Bought some metal screening, cut to size, and used "Goop" to attach to the inside. Newer AS's may already have this.

I was told by a propane supplier that if there is a propane leak, it will attract bees and wasps. The sweet smell is what attracts them. The leak can be so small that your nose cannot detect it.

You can use stainless or brass wool to stuff the holes during the warmer weather... just be sure to remember to remove before using the heater.
those squiggly dish scrubby thingies could work as well. Just don't use steel wool as it will rust and leave a mess behind!

Duck tape over the holes also works, and keeps water out of the furnace when you wash the Airstream as well.

Heard that......screens on every opening a dirt dauber can get into. Down here when it rains they will build one of their mud huts on a board before you can nail it up. Seriously, seen it happen. No kiddin'.

I installed the stainless steel screen on the furnace exhaust to keep the wasps out of my 2016 Classic. It Works great.
Unfortunately, I cannot find one to protect my Truma instant water heater. I called Truma and the young lady thought my inquiry into the possibility of obtaining a screen to cover the intake vent was odd and had never heard of such a thing.
Any ideas folks?

Maybe you can adapt something. My Atwood wh is open enough you can at least hose the flue out or knock out the nest with a screw driver or something.

I've had good results with the RV accy's screens such as AWCHIEF posted...but I'd make a recommendation.... Use clear plastic tubing (1/4" works) to split down it's side and slip onto the base of the screen to prevent the screen from chafeing the side of your airstream's aluminum/clearcoat.

Furnace used so seldom it would be hard to remember to remove anything stuffed in.
Old aluminum screens re-purposed for vents, should be oversize for tube to allow air to flow freely..
Stainless scrub pads not a good idea, due to rust and brass scrubbers need to be checked with a magnet, found the last batch of brass rusted like the stainless it was replacing.

Camping World has several different sizes of wire mesh screens for water heaters, furnaces, and frig vents. I kept getting all sorts of bugs in the frig compartment outside. Put the 3 mesh screens on the bottom openings and its great. Water heater has one that sticks out somewhat but its not very noticeable and works great too.

I use the blue painters tape on the inside of the screens. No issue taking off, no residue and never had wasps or anything else get in.
