Thanks for these cool guitar videos!

One of the best, but lesser known guitar albums is 88 Elmira Street.

These are all incredible musicians and I have seen many of your suggestions over my x+ years. My suggestions on the best guitar players of "today" include Derrick Trucks (can you say virtuoso) as well as Mr. Robert Cross's mention of Joe Bonamassa, both are fantastic. Derrick is touring this year with Susan Tedeschi which I hear is awesome. He is also the son of Butch Trucks and grew up with the Allman Brothers Band, which he occasionally plays with too (as well as with Government Mule -Warren Haynes band when not with the Allman Bros).

Keep on truckin!

TOTALLY agree! Saw the Allman Brothers Band end of 2011. Derek played, along with Warren Haynes. A buddy of mine had bought me a ticket, and I was sort of on the fence about going. Turned out to be one of my favorite concerts - absolutely great.

That Sunday morning, waiting to catch my flight back to ATL, who boards my flight? Greg Allan and Derek Trucks. Got Derek's autograph on the flight. Actually, Derek is married to Susan Tedeschi, and she is awesome on the guitar. And yes, Joe Bonamassa - great.

My wife has a new mandolin ...does that count? (She authorized an electronic exercise unit as well ... it has 7 drum heads!)

Sure, why not? Tommy Tedesco said that when he played a mandolin that he tuned it to the same notes as the four high strings on a guitar, like a ukulele.

No mandolin, or ukulele, but here's Tommy playing Nature Boy:

as a pro guitarist I can tell you that Joe Bonamassa has done a lot for us players who love straight ahead classic blues and rock styles.
No shredding ! Nothing wrong with it, but it does little for my ears. Too many notes...ha.
I love a soulful sound with tone to the bone.

X3 On JB. But I like to do a little playing of my own. Love to take the guitar out to the woods with my AS and play for hours. Typically I take my Taylor GS Mini out with me.

I think I bought some really good bread in Utica in 2000, but maybe it was Rome (NY, not that other one). So, maybe, something else good came out of Utica.

I wonder what that guy is doing to his vocal cords? You can't change them so easily.
