I'm paying $100 for a covered 40 x 12 spot with 30a power about 10 miles from home (although road construction has temporarily added a few miles to the trip) wth code gate, barbed fence, and cameras. The big motorhome behind me wanted to sublease a few feet of my spot to get his rear end out of the weather. I told him no soap. I want as much protection from hail as feasible and with the adjoining building very close, I need the extra slot length to fully straighten the trailer out in my space. When I had the 25, it was a lot easier than with the 28 and I might have given him a few feet.

I am usually alone when I put the trailer away. In the restricted space between buildings, backing an 8 1/2' wide trailer into my space with an unseen roof pillar on the far side is not fun. My 2500HD has quite a wide turning radius. Fortunately, my next-door slot is occupied by a boat and that gives me some extra swinging space.

The storage yard expects to have a new building up by end of year and I will then move and have a lot more space to manoeuver in.

Juel,
We go camping even if it winterized! Just take some water along, I typically fill a couple of the big 5 gallon water coolers for drinking, cooking and sponge bathing, or use the campground bath houses. Around here we can camp year round, typically they will shut the water off at the sites but the bath houses will still have water on. And if it is boon docking we put the chemical porta potti in the back of the truck to use instead...kind of a hardsided tent camping

That is just what we do when it gets too cold for the water and we need to get away! Porta Potty and a few gallons of water, for a shower, the father inlaw calls it a bird bath,,,

"Sparky" is winterized and tucked in for a long New England winter's nap in our front yard. I just finished decorating him for Christmas today! Luckily we live in a community that doesn't have silly rules about having trailers in the yard, so he sits proudly out there for everyone to admire! (I like to think they are just jealous) Not many people in this part of the country have Airstreams in thier yards, and I am PROUD of mine. Next trip out will be in February to the Daytona 500- sunshine and fun!

In my driveway, freezing it's little aluminum nuts off. It's going to drop down to -20 later this evening.

31 last night. Whoops! Nature's mistake. 50's tonight, and that's more like it. I actually plugged my diesel tow truck (and daily driver) in last night...

My batwing is frosted...

... and the Bambi is in the yard covered with snow. Freezing rain, sleet, and snow is predicted for tonight. She's all winterized but, weather permitting, we're going to try to get a road trip to DC over the holidays to celebrate our 25th anniversary on New Year's Eve.

Safe and sound, warm and dry in it's spot in area 63, the secret lab in Orange, according to azflycaster. It is waiting for the weekend, when I have more time to add yet more interior wood to it.......
