Where is your Airstream tonight?

My wife and I discused this issue more then a few times in the last few weeks and, let's just say, we decided to move our trailer from the front of our house to a RV storage yard. It mostly had to do with looking out the front window and seeing the unit. The folks next door were making jokes about sun glasses in the morning in their kitchen, but they always kid about little things. I had wanted to store it next to the garage, but it would not fit without cutting back the garage roof a couple of feet (not a big deal to me!). I have to aadmit the storage yard is nice, very secure and has visiting hours from 5am till midnight. I do miss her and plan to visit often. Picture on the left was her old home. You really have to look hard to see the trailer. The picture on the right is her new home, away from home. Where is your Airstream tonight?

Looking great

Mine is out of the barn at the axle place - first time I've let it out (of the barn) in over a year........

Unhappy He's sleeping.....

Our "Moby" is asleep in the barn, feeling very neglected. We didn't get to work on him much this year because of a house building project. He does have new brakes and a new hitch, and all the old nasty carpet is out, but there is still much work to do.

If there are any "warm" days this winter, we'll go out to visit and possibly do some tender, loving puttering.

Looking very good! I like Uwe's wheels better, that's just my opinion.

My baby is tucked away for the rainy season under a trailer cover I have out back of our property. It's currently keeping company with my '58 Silver Streak and a friends Award. I suspect there will be one more unit there in the next few weeks. As for the winterized thing - well, that is just one of those things we do at the same time we put the lawn mower away every year and prepare to couch potato it for several months. You quit cutting the lawn and you have a trailer, then you winterize it, along with anything else you own. It's a sad life for those of us who live in the frozen north.

One can switch to mimosas as the holiday season approaches. Rather than serve the same ol' mezcal next spring just pour it in your water tank.

Comfortably nesting in South Jersey RV's warehouse, in the final stretch of its restoration. It will hopefully be finished and revived this coming weekend....maybe I will name it.......how about Lazarus?

Ours is safely tucked on the back of our new property by our pond. She'll spend the winter outside, sadly, until next spring/summer when we'll build a bumpout on our steel barn to handle her length. We haven't winterized yet; we sometimes spend the night with her since camping has taken a back seat during this summer's house remodeling. She also is serving as guest house when our daughter comes for weekend visits to help with the remodeling. Grandsons like to "camp" in her, too. We keep putting the winterizing off. Some night I know we'll be out there in the dark with flashlights and antifreeze mumbling "we knew better!" I hope next winter she'll be tucked away inside shelter so I'll feel less guilty about her!

Mine is up at the dealer's getting its last warranty work done (28 days left). I've already winterized and when its done, it goes over to the storage lot for the winter. Wish I had a covered storage spot.....

The Safari is in the driveway. We are headed to Malibu for a rally this coming weekend with a field trip on Friday to see King Tut.

The Liner is in Chino waiting to come to Orange for its next rehab step.

Mine hasn't spent a single night penned up, fenced in, or under a roof since it left the factory 46 years and 8 months ago.

Ours is outside in the driveway, packed and ready to hit the road at a moments notice. We have 5 acres, so storage isn't an issue. There are a few more trips before planned before winterization, like to Washington DC over Thanksgiving. But if the weather is right on any weekend before that, we're outta here.

Ours has been back at the storage facility for about 2.5 hours, after spending the past week-end at Laguna Seca Raceway, in Monterey, CA. We hope to soon bring our Airstream home to live....the cement is to be poured next week-end. I think both of us (me and the Airstream) will be much happier when I can stop by to visit whenever I wish....

Our Silverhilton II recently checked in to the executive suite for her winter residence. A full 560 sq ft to assure her complete privacy, with a 16' high ceiling, tastefully appointed cement block and aluminum walls and cement floor.

She was pampered and tucked in for the night (actually for many nights) by the staff, and we've been assured that all her needs will be attended to until we reunite early next spring.

Did I say all her needs? Well, yes, except there will be no Belgian chocolate on the bed pillow each night as she is trying to stay fit over the winter.

My Airstream...well mine is only in my dreams at this point! We own SOB at present, sadly to say. I am dreaming of the day when I can have my own. Until then, they say anticipation is the best part!

All dispersed

Well, the 58 Sovereign of the Road had all of its interior removed (carefully removed - not gutted), and it made a trip along with a 46 Vagabond from here in central NY to Plattsburgh where it met up with 12 other Airstreams at Colin's shop - GSM Vehicles to begin it's getting a new floor, neww veins, new insulation, and new flooring plus Zolatone. The 65 Caravel remains outside missing it's older brother. The 67 Trade Wind is at Aquia Pines Campground in Stafford, VA, where I will visit this Tuesday for a 3 weeks while I do my USMC Reserves - the Trade Wind currently is my home away from home until the SOTR of the completed.
