In Winter Storage

I have a sad looking Overlander sitting outside in the snow where it will be all winter. I wonder if you feel the same way looking at your trailer just sitting there waiting for the next trip next spring. Those who live in warmer climates may not have this problem.

Sad

Mine is tucked away in the Pole Barn for the winter.

My best advice....run an extension cord to power the heater. Turn on the propane tanks. Heat it up, warm it up and go read a book or magazine inside and enjoy it.....
Or, put on a very big parka and go inside to read a book or magazine and enjoy it? (not my choice solution).
Regardless many of us feel your pain.

More Snow

It's October 24 and we have had our second major snowfall. Nearly a foot of fresh snow. I guess snow is what Colorado is well known for, so no complaints. It is a significant economic engine for us.

I do find the snow to be an excellent anti-theft strategy. Maybe by February the Overlander will be mostly buried in snow.

Hi

One thing to give a bit of thought to: Where is the road compared to your trailer? The big old plow rumbling down that road can occasionally toss chunks of "stuff" an amazing distance ..... I have friends who found this out the hard way on their AS ....

Did we sign up for all this early snow in our storage places?

I am away from a plowed road. They can't reach me even if they plow at 35 mph. BUT, I am on the outside of a downhill curve. If a car had a high enough speed and slipped off the road, they could fly down the ditch, through some smaller aspen, and hit my Overlander. Very unlikely though.

After a six-month nap, Willard came out from under his winter coat this weekend and started his "summarization" process. Can hardly wait for our first trip in three weeks!!

Yeah... I noticed that about 30 minutes after posting which was past the edit window. I'll just say it was a double entendre.

We lived in the Syracuse and Binghamton areas for 20 years. I don't miss the lake effect snowfalls of two to three feet at a time! Good luck!
