Nikki,

Please, read a private message I sent. I have a list and am very close - so I can come by at any time you want to set up.

Sleeping quarters Biloxi, Ms

the wife & I spent 5 weeks there in Oct & Nov as volunteers. I was very depressed when leaving. Those who live there have a difficult time ahead. Utter destruction. New Orleans gets the hype, but Mississippi was really worst. Volunteers are needed & will be for years to come.

Best,

Clancy Boy,
Be careful with the flooded A/S's and parts, microbials from the flooded water (Black Water) can and will cause problems. Some parts/supplies are not worth the risk, don't think bleach will clean this stuff.

The Ms. Coast was devastated with such a major storm.

New Orleans was spared the damage from the NE quadrant of the eye since that went to the gulf coast although the flood water from the levee failure has severely damaged the infrastructure. Many may not know that only about 25% of the population has returned to New Orleans with about 3000 unaccounted for about 6 months after the strom.
FEMA trailers are not even allowed in many parts of New Orleans with the Ninth ward and the East still empty with no utilities or street lights in most places.

Stefrobrts, Try these sites for local info around New Orleans;

MARKEXC500,

I understand your concern but Nikki has stated she is up in Popularville which I doubt was flooded. The rest of the AS I have been looking at were on the MS coast and far from the filth of New Orleans flood waters. Most of what I need are glass and metal so I believe I can safely clean these items.

I have seen 3 more AS's being "towed" towards Biloxi on I10 yesterday. They seem to be grouped and are not mixed with the other junk when I see them. I wonder if there is a buyer specifically for these. They were in sad shape with one on a flatbed. These were also spray painted with the FEMA ID numbers and I believe are headed to the scrap yards. Too many parts for vintage trailers are being destroyed. The whole units may be a waste but there are many useable parts that can be salvaged.

Mike,

I also am interested in parts for my Excella. Please let me know or post any local finds that are available if you don't need them. Thanks.

Just a friendly word of caution, I agree that you could be fine with non flooded parts and flooded exterior parts if properly cleaned with an antimicrobial although any (Black Water) Catagory 3 (rising) Flood is Filth and contaminated if it's on the MS Coast or in New Orleans does not make a difference.
