I recently had all mine replaced. In my research I found that Moog and Raybestos Pro line were a toss up on quality. Just make sure you specify p30 motorhome series for parts.

I'll second both Mr. J and mayco. Rock auto is a great source for parts. Both Moog and Raybestos make high quality parts. I would go with either one if I couldn't get OEM parts. I used to turn wrenches for a living and know that the "house brand" at O'Reilly, Autozone, Advance, etc are lower quality. They use plastic gushers inside and they fail much faster than the high quality brass gushers in the OEM, Moog, or Raybestos parts.

A little late to the thread, but I am stumped on finding a lower ball joint replacement for our 1996 LY30 - with disks front and rear.

The ball joints I pulled out have a 1.125" base and a 0.97" top. They have a "N175" stamped in the bottom, and a 2" press in size..

The indicated K6511 (per MOOG) does not fit - the taper is too small. The K6511 taper goes from 1.0" to 0.90". The press in size is ok at 2".

Other ball joints I have been recommended my a local auto chain, O'Reilly's, MOOG, and NAPA include:

K6129T - 1" base, 0.90" top - per SuperSteer for drum brakes.
K6175 - Too small - Per MOOG for P30 chassis, 1973-1976)
K6117T - 0.90" base, , 1.2": press in.

I am going nuts. I am about ready to mail this to a race car place and have them make me a set. Any body solved this?

Dang, Why can't I edit my own post on this site???

Anyhow, I screwed up on the press-in size on both my "N175" model and the K6511. Both measure out at 2.2+ inches, not 2".

The bigger issue still remains. None of the aftermarket ball joints indicated to fit have the correct taper.

After spending 3 hours last night on google, I found a couple references to too small of taper problems on the f'ing P30 chassis. Went back to the beginning, and found an ACDelco part number this am. Called O'Reilly's, and it crossed to the K6511 - which is wrong. Called NAPA, and they have it in stock, and the dimensions do NOT match the K6511. I'm heading into town to see if this is correct to the only NAPA open on Sunday.

Maybe, maybe...

I have a 76 argosy. Here is what I used. Tops were OK, I replaced anyway. Bottoms were not good.

MOOG K6174
MOOG K6511

You can get these at Autozone/NAPA and pay a lot more.

The bottom ones were tight to get in. I borrowed an Autozone tool. It worked but was small for the application.

Thanks for the reply.
Seems AS changed the ball joints for at least the 95-98 Land Yachts. Neither of those fit my 96LY30.

If anybody needs, I posted most of the resolution over in the Motorhomes/Land Yacht section.
