I recently purchased and '81 280 motorhome to renovate into a tiny home. I had a couple questions so far. I'm almost finished gutting it but I was curious if anyone else had rotted outside compartments? If so are they possible to replace? How would I go about doing so? Also does anyone have any advice about removing the interior walls. I've seen posts about others doing so but it sounds very complicated so I was wondering if it was neccesary to do so.
Everything was kept in pretty great condition and all original. I won't be using most of it so if anyone is restoring theirs to original and want any parts I'd be happy to give a good deal on them.
Thanks so much for all your help!! Pictures of Arliene are below
Since my last post we’ve been able to tear out the original interior and remove the interior skins/insulation. Up next is replacing the floor.
Can anyone point me to a good post about replacing the flooring? I’ve found a couple which cover the process in a trailer, is it the same in a motorhome?
There are many threads in the Classic motorhome that include sections on flooring (take a look at mayco's for example). But you will get a much higher response if you post in the model specific forum....for no other reason that many motorhome members only look in the specific section that relates to them.
Maybe ask the mods to move this thread up to the Classic motorhomes section.
Thank you! I thought that I had posted this in the ‘classic motorhome’ group. (Still trying to figure out this website hahha) I will try to figure out a way to move it or repost in the proper section
You are definitely in the motorhome section, but your post didn't go into a model specific section so is 'off-the -page' when you look on most PC's or mobile devices, and so easily missed.
As a bunch we don't normally leave posts unanswered unless we simply don't see it!
