Airstream 280 Tank Capacity
Hey there......does anyone know the capacity of the water and waste tanks in an `82 280 motorhome? And if living full time are these likely to need topping up and draining on a weekly basis?...or shorter/longer?
Cheers.

My 84 310 has a 60 gallon (US) water tank. 35 gallon gray water and 25 gallon black tank.
We are just finishing up 4 weeks of boondocking. We have emptied the black tank twice. The water and gray tank really depend on how many dishes you wash and how many showers you take. We shower every other day and often dump dish water on the ground. We average about 8 gallons a day of gray water. There are two of us.

My educated guess is:
White Water - 50 gallons
Gray Water - 35 gallons
Black Water - 25 gallons
This info is from a 1981 28' unit
Where would you be living in it? You would be fine in any campground with water and sewer hook-ups.

1989 345LE...I think fresh is 80, black is 35, and grey is 50, but I can't find the documentation to back that up...mike

I updated my Tanks page with the specifications from the 1989 brochure for you. Your 1989 345 has a 60 gallon fresh water tank according to the brochure (and 40 gallon gray and 50 gallon black water).

The propane should be in pounds and not gallons.

Mr Fred,
THANK you for your, as always, timely updates...20 gallons of H2O at quartzsite is a HUGE relevant factor...(might explain the unexplained loss of anticipated fluids?). Really great knowledge to have about the black water tank...not an area for much discussion, when it is exceeded...I LOVE this forum..........mike
