Owners Manual(s) for 1961 Tradewind
Does anyone have any owners manual(s) for a 1961 Tradewind? I'm trying to go through various systems and see what works. Trailer is in decent shape with everything original present. Would like to work with original existing systems if at all possible. Unit has original Dometic fridge too which looks nice. From what I can figure so far the electrical system has seperate 12V and 110V lines but I'm not for sure. I called Airstream and Secretarial services both with no luck so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Not quite, but...
I know this is not the exact thing you are looking for, but I got a complete and perfectly intact '64 manual with my Bambi II. If you need copies of anything if you think they would be close enough, just let me know.

If you ever come across what you're looking for and need a home for your 64 Overlander manual, I'll most happily take it off your hands. For $$$!
Good luck.

1964 was the first year that Airstream made owners manuals. Prior to that, they provided typed sheets for the various appliances and a few of the systems like brakes. A few can be found but suggest getting digital copies if another forum member posts them.
Good luck with your project. Post some pictures when you can. We LOVE pictures.

64 Overlander Manual
Many thanks, Brad. I'll hope that something turns up. And yes, I'll post pics soon. My Airstream is on some property almost 1000 miles from where I actually live (don't you love North America?). Was just out there recently with a friend who's to email me her photos. In the meantime, here it is, where it is.

Well, well. It just so happens that I have an owner's manual for an early Airstream but I'm not sure of the year. Judging by the artwork and style, I would say mid '50's. It doesn't really provide any technical info - just basic care and maintenance. I need to get all of the pages in one PDF document and when I do, I'll post it here.

OK, here it is. I don't think they'll honor the free Fifth Avenue on Wheels book offer though.
I don't think this is what you're looking for as it doesn't provide much info on how the systems all work. I'll keep looking through what I have.

trailerites with magic wheels
This manual is a crackup! There is so much material in here. I love the 50s. A brief rundown of my favorites-
"trailerites" - those strange foreign objects that orbit trailers?
"People may stop you on the street and say, 'Mr., your brakes are dragging'. Pay no attention to them."
"The chances are not even one in a hundred that you will ever need service on your electric brakes..." - um, HELL YEAH!!
"The thing to do is to look your tire over carefully and pull out the nail or whatever it is that is causing the slow leak. The tire will then heal itself." - um, HELL YEAH!!
"'How can we keep our trailer as bright and shiny looking as it is now?' The answer is 'You can't.'" - grr. so many words I want to use.
"In our opinion, no one makes a really good stove with an oven and broiler for a travel trailer." - so enjoy this POS and quit complaining!
and on a serious note, words to live by...
"Don't ever let your wheels stop rolling for more than thirty days at a time."
See More Do More.
This manual is pure gold. Thank you for sharing.
