Thumbs up Looks Great

As so many have already said, what a great find.
I found my 72 after it had been sitting for about 10 years and soon realized how much work it would need and loved every minute of it. Its great to bring them back to life and start having fun in them. good luck and enjoy.

Hi all,

I am Sabre's other half saying hello! I am also very excited about Surely - even rotting in the weeds I felt she was about the most beautiful thing I had ever laid eyes on!

I am excited to decorate her, but of course we have lots of hours - and lots of money - to go before we get to that part.

Anyhow, nice to join the club and meet you all!

Smitten

Hello to you too! I see you are in Wisconsin. Make sure you look into joining the Wisconsin Unit of the WBCCI. Lot's of Vintage folks that are fun and VERY helpful. I'd suggest joining even before you get your trailer going. We've been to a couple local rallies without our trailer. We stopped by for the open house and brought a dish to pass for the pot luck. You will find a very nice enthusiastic group of folks that we be invaluable as you are getting your trailer going.

Good Luck and hope to see you down the road.

great find... You probably have not gotten to it yet, but the Dometic reffer is a great unit. I have the same pink one in mine and it works great. No power needed. I also like that you have the Ogden filter on the countertop. I believe the next year it was under the counter and out of sight. You have made a great find there.
Not to be a vulture, but the TV antenna... are you planning to scrape it like most people do? I know they are soon to be totally obsolete, but I am looking to put one back on. If you are planning to remove it, please let me know. I promise to put it to good use.

I'm not sure what is going to be happening with the antenna, we've talked about a couple different options, including restoring/rebuilding it. Right now, I took the grid off, but still have the poles on. It would make a good flag pole!

Here's another picture of the inside:

I was pretty astounded that the electrical worked as well as it seems to!

The wood looks to be in real good shape. The wood in ours has a lot of delamination. Also, the light cover above the kitchen sink looks good. I hope the other light covers in the bedroom & bathroom in just as good shape. I'm working on trying to make new covers.......bend, break, bend, break...........going to get a heat gun!

Thanks for all the kind words and advice everyone! We spent a good part of the day Saturday poking around and getting familiar with her. Next step...win the lottery, right?

The light covers are all there and in perfect condition. It is truly amazing, but it doesn't appear that there is one original thing missing or broken. We feel so lucky and are so, so, so happy!

Steve - Nice to meet you, too! I was checking out the Wisconsin chapter of WBCCI - are you a member or have you been to any of the events?

Steve is one of my best friend evers. Get to know him for he is one outstanding guy. He understands what this is all about. He thinks deeply and when he speaks he says a lot. I cannot praise him enough. You are luck to live so close to him.
Be careful with those light covers, I kept mine safe through out the restoration, until I put it back for the final time... snap!

Yes I am a member and have been to a couple events... even though our trailer(s) are in the restoration process. We will be attending a rally in Lodi the first weekend in August... still plenty of time to sign up. HERE is a link to the Wisconsin Unit Website. Also check out the Badger Bulletin... the Wisconsin unit is a great group... I hope you join in.
