    Hi Pete,
I also have a love of Spartans...my office is a renovated Spartan Mansion and I have a Manor waiting in the wings! My secret guilty pleasure is trolling the web for a Spartan Crescendo! But right now I'm working on a 1960 Ambassador and I'm intrigued with your vinyl wrap interior. It's good to hear that it has held up well. What type of surface preparation was necessary for the interior aluminum panels for the vinyl wrap to adhere? My panels are out and partially stripped of the Zolatone and several layers of latex house paint. The panels are certainly not completely smooth or down to the aluminum. I'm wondering if using a primer over the existing surface would provide an adequate surface for the vinyl wrap. I want the wood look and really do want a real wood product but, your vinyl application is truly spot on!
    Thx,
    Kathleen

Hi Pete, someone just revived an old thread from a trailer you decaled the interior aluminum with woodgrain look vinyl a few years back, I am curious how did it hold up over the long term, was there much shrinkage in the vinyl or have you since sold it?

I work in a sign shop and was thinking about possibly playing with vinyl on one of mine

    Thanks, Leya

    Hi Pete.
I am thinking of bringing an airstream over to NZ (I'm near Auckland). Can you recommend any particular shipping company and the right way/process of going about it? It will probably be around 26/27 ft.
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Vicky (vickythunt@hotmail.com)

Hi...I live in Victoria,BC, Canada for 6 months a year and in Whangarei, NZ for your summer. I restore Airstreams as a hobby and presently have two for sale,,,1970 Trade Wind and 1971 Trade Wind. Just wondered if you might be interested as I could arrange shipping from this end before I leave for NZ on Oct. 29th. My wife and I were near Raglan last year. Please provide contact details and we might get together in the summer. If you have any advise regarding shipping to NZ please let me know. I have shipped an Airstream to Australia a couple years ago. I usually ship a 40ft container to NZ each year but an Airstream will not fit in a container as you likely know. Hope to hear from you soon.....George

Hi there - someone suggested you might be of assistance: I own a 31' 1970 Airstream which at present is parked in Vancouver, Canada. I live in Hastings, New Zealand and would like to bring it over here - I understand you are an expert in overseas transportation of these things. Any ideas of how I could get it to the port of Napier? Thanks, Tom Burstyn (06.874.3969)
