Replacement window trim

We recently purchased a 1978 Sovereign (pictures below) and are embarking on a complete renovation (our first ever). The previous owner had gutted it. Most everything seems to be there...except the interior window trims. (We found one for a Vista window but that's it). I have done some searching and haven't been able to find much in way of sources to purchase news ones or even people that can fabricate passable replacements. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good resource to help procure these? Maybe this has been discussed on other threads and I just wasn't using the correct search terms. We're super excited to join the community and have already found this forum to be a treasure trove of information! Ryan

Can you be more specific about what window trims are you looking for? Is it the screen frames you're missing, or something else?

Hmm...I'm not sure of the exact terminology or frankly even know whether it's just 1 part per window or multiple. Maybe it's easier to explain/show what I have (and someone can tell me what I'm missing). If you click on the interior pics above twice it will open them in a new browser window and you can zoom in on the AS windows. There is glass, frames that encase the glass, levers to open/shut them and locks. I also have all the large aluminum skins that cover the interior of the trailer. But I have nothing else. Based on pictures it seems there is at at least one piece missing that overlaps against the interior skins and has carve-outs for the window levers. I don't know what this is though (and whether there are even more pieces that I'm missing. Thanks for helping me with this. Ryan

Sounds like you're looking for screen frames. Bummer that they're gone. I'm not sure where you'd get them aside from a salvage Airstream. Not going to be cheap. Maybe check with places like Colaw RV salvage

I just ran across this diagram and it looks like they're called the Frame Assembly here. I think the PO has the actual screens. Have you ever heard of someone getting new frames fabricated or making some type of replacement themselves? I assume it's going to be hard to locate vintage replacements for all my windows. Thanks, Ryan

Frame assembly, #2 in that photo, is the part of the window that is riveted to the skin of your trailer. You're not missing the frame assembly, they're visible in the photos. I think you're missing #1, screen assembly.

If PO still has the screen frames, you should try to get them from him. Finding someone parting out a trailer of similar vintage and buying replacements will be expensive, if you're able to find them at all.
