Must have for Shell Off...

If you are in the middle of or are contemplating a full bore shell off restoration, consider printing these pictures and placing them somewhere prominent. Perhaps a daily reminder of the powerful nature of the Airstream itself in all its naked and lonely glory will push you through the dark times that will come...

Was randomly browsing the classifieds (because 3 vintage trailers isn't enough) and ran across this post by one post member "a-ok"

http://www.airstreamclassifieds.com/...n-31-illinois/

What struck me were these pictures (attached below). Apparently he threw in the towel on this resto and is selling the shell. While he may not be able to restore an old airstream, due to whatever circumstances, he can certainly make a good picture. Also, I'm assuming he's male... could be a goat for all I know.

I find them very indicative of the daunting and lonely nature of a full restoration. Also a very powerful couple of images in and of themselves.

Good job a-ok...

Ian

He has removed 3/4 of the exterior rivets around the C channel, the interior skins, flooring, found rusted out frame and still wants $7000.00?

How the heck is anyone going to drive it away? You'd need to do three months work at his place just to get it roadworthy.

His wasn't the first and won't be the last gutted Airstream with the lines "all the hard work already done", " ready for your dream interior".

Cool pics though.

It was only about the pics. I felt it needed context.
But, damn. That interior shot is pretty strong.
The ad? Pthhh... I've got same coach but with no vista view lights I'll sell ya for $6,999 that's in way worse condition right now. For you, today!
